About The Role We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at EDAG Engineering GmbH. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-availability backend services utilizing Kotlin and Spring Boot frameworks. Your work will directly contribute to the development of innovative automotive solutions, supporting our mission to advance mobility technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, product managers, and system architects to deliver scalable and efficient backend systems that meet our high standards of quality and reliability. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in developing backend services using Kotlin and Spring Boot. Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus. Familiarity with database systems, both relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Good communication skills in English; German language skills are advantageous but not mandatory. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement scalable backend services using Kotlin and Spring Boot. Ensure the high availability, security, and performance of backend systems. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, coding, testing, and deployment. Collaborate with frontend developers and system architects to define technical specifications and ensure seamless integration. Maintain and improve existing backend services, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements. Adhere to best practices in software development, including code reviews, documentation, and testing.
