About The Role We are seeking an Associate Data Scientist to join our dynamic Data Science team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and deploying machine learning models and NLP solutions that address complex real-world problems faced by financial institutions and government agencies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Managers and Platform Engineers to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. Your responsibilities will span the entire project lifecycle—from initial problem scoping, exploratory data analysis, and model training to production deployment and validation. The ideal candidate is a curious, independent problem solver with a strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, and programming, eager to contribute to impactful projects in a fast-paced startup environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to expand your skills across both scientific and engineering domains, working on cutting-edge technologies that deliver tangible results in combating financial crimes. Qualifications MS or higher degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields At least 1 year of professional industry experience in data science or related roles Proficiency in Python and experience with SQL and Spark Strong knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques including regression, classification, clustering, hypothesis testing, and regularization Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms such as random forests, boosting, and neural networks Applied NLP experience including topic modeling, text classification, word embeddings, and named entity recognition is a plus Programming experience in Scala/Java or R is advantageous Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences Responsibilities Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to explore ideas, test hypotheses, and develop prototypes for data-driven solutions Break down complex problems into manageable tasks within an agile environment Analyze large unstructured datasets using SQL, Python, and PySpark to derive insights and inform modeling efforts Develop and implement NLP pipelines involving data enrichment and processing of large-scale text data Train, validate, and optimize machine learning models to solve complex risk assessment problems Deploy models into production environments following best practices in software engineering, including Scala codebase integration Validate model performance using standard and custom metrics to ensure accuracy and relevance Leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to scale data science tasks such as data labeling and information extraction Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high-quality, reusable code standards Benefits Competitive salary and company equity options Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance Flexible vacation and paid time off policies Employer-matched 401(k) plan Supportive work environment that values work-life balance Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning Hybrid work model with options for remote work and in-office collaboration Equal Opportunity Quantifind is an equal opportunity employer.
