And now… we're hiring an eCommerce Email Marketing Strategist / Account Manager to join the team. We use AI heavily, test constantly, and push the standard of what retention marketing can look like. We don't settle for "good" accounts. We build retention engines that print revenue. The Role As an Email Marketing Strategist & Account Manager, you own your client accounts end-to-end. You are the strategic brain, the client's main point of contact, and the operational quarterback who keeps your pod (copywriter, designer, Klaviyo specialist) executing at a high level. This is not an entry-level role. We're looking for someone with real email marketing experience inside Klaviyo who can step into a portfolio of accounts and drive strategy from day one. Your mission: Maintain 100% client retention and satisfaction across 6–8 accounts by serving as the bridge between Rettain's internal team and each brand we serve. THE RESPONSIBILITIES You own and drive the overall email and SMS marketing strategy and execution for each of your accounts. This includes: ✨ Own 6–8 DTC accounts end-to-end (with full senior support behind you) ✨ Drive strategy across flows, campaigns, pop-ups, and SMS ✨ Lead client communication and build real relationships with founders ✨ Build real relationships with your clients. Make them feel like we're an extension of their team. ✨ Run your pod (copywriter, designer, Klaviyo specialist) like a pro ✨ Review and approve all internal work before it's sent to the client. ✨ Keep task boards and pod plates updated and properly prioritized. ✨ Use AI tools to move faster and think bigger ✨ Hit real KPIs: 40%+ attributed revenue, 10+ A/B tests per client per month SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Lifecycle Strategy: You think in customer journeys, not one-off sends. You can map a full retention ecosystem (Welcome → Abandoned → Post-Purchase → Winback → Review) and explain why each touchpoint exists. Ecom Email Marketing & Klaviyo Expertise: Deep hands-on experience building and optimizing flows, segments, campaigns, and pop-ups. Comfortable in deliverability, list health, and A/B testing. Campaign Briefing: Can write a clear, structured brief that tells a copywriter and designer the angle, offer, hierarchy, and CTA, so the work comes back close to right the first time. Account Management: Genuinely enjoy client relationships. Comfortable leading strategy calls, presenting performance, and being the trusted voice founders lean on. Pod Leadership: Run a tight team (copywriter, designer, Klaviyo specialist) as collaborators, not order-takers. Give clear direction, push the work, and protect the standard. Conversion-Minded: Understand what makes an email get opened, clicked, and converted, subject lines, hierarchy, mobile rendering, CTAs, all of it. AI-Native: Already use Claude, ChatGPT, and automation tools (Make, Zapier) daily to move faster and think bigger. Speed & Adaptability: Move fast, juggle 6-8 accounts, and adapt to shifting client priorities without dropping balls. Strategic Eye: Have real opinions about what to test next, why a flow is leaking revenue, and where the next 10% lives. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS 2+ years of hands-on Klaviyo experience for DTC ecommerce brands Experience managing multiple client accounts at an agency, or owning email end-to-end for a $1M+ in-house brand Available during US business hours (overlap with EST required) Fluent in English & Spanish (Our team is Spanish Speaking) Comfortable living in Notion, Slack, Figma, and Klaviyo Genuine passion for retention marketing and the customer lifecycle Team player who actually likes working with copywriters, designers, and specialists Ready to get after it every day, and grow their skills WHY WORK WITH US?
