About The Role As a Principal Front End/Full Stack Developer within Fidelity’s Quantitative Development team, you will assume a pivotal leadership role in designing, developing, and deploying sophisticated web applications tailored for investment professionals and senior management. Your expertise will directly influence the technological backbone that supports critical functions such as portfolio construction, risk management, and alpha research. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, complemented by extensive professional experience. Proven leadership in managing full software development lifecycle projects, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance, is required. Expertise in front-end technologies, particularly Angular and its ecosystem, is crucial, with familiarity in other frameworks such as React or Vue.js considered a plus. You should have a solid proficiency in back-end development with Python and frameworks like Django or Flask. Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server are mandatory. Additionally, knowledge of object-oriented design, software patterns, and UI/UX principles will be advantageous. Effective communication and collaboration skills are vital, as is experience with data visualization libraries and UI component libraries. A background in financial services, especially with an understanding of investment risk, is highly desirable, with progress towards certifications like FRM or CFA viewed favorably.
