Job description
Interpreting and analyzing policies, procedures, and business processes.
Providing guidance and problem resolution to internal and external customers and
providing support and representation of innovative program goals. Run queries,
analyze databases, analyze, and develop process flows, and compose technical
documentation and diagrams to describe complex processes and systems. Perform
special duties as assigned.
How you will contribute:
Documentation and Reporting : Interprets and analyzes policies, procedures, and
business processes. Conducts necessary research to enact program improvements.
Assists with development of policies and procedures related to the specific
program and applicable systems. Assists in implementing policies, procedures,
contracts, and applications for both internal and external customers.
Instructional and Process Documentation: Evaluates, develops, and maintains
instructional and process documentation for the assigned user interface and
application. Provides training for internal and external customers. Perform
duties as assigned.: Perform duties, tasks, activities and/or projects as
assigned. Program Analysis and Reporting: Conducts research and compiles data
and prepares reports for presentations for a variety of programs or projects.
System Support: Manages the development, maintenance, and use of systems to
support assigned user interface and application. Maintains documentation and
implements training to support program goals.
What will make you successful:
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and
external customers. Knowledge of data analysis and ability to evaluate and solve
technical data problems. Skill in providing technical assistance to others in
the use of GIS applications and related computer programs. Skill in the use of
computers and software applications to include a working knowledge of GIS
theory, applications, architecture, and technology trends. Skilled in strong
attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to develop, interpret, and apply changes to policies and procedures and
prepare technical reports. Ability to provide technical guidance and training to
staff, especially as is related to sound use of GIS technology to support
project development and program management. Ability to work independently and
help develop project, program, or process improvement efforts as directed by
management. Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst extensions
and Arc GIS Online. Knowledge of GIS theory, applications, architecture, and
technology trends. Knowledge of relational databases, database design, data
integrity, and metadata documentation. Skill in Microsoft Office applications
including Excel.
Additional Considerations:
A combination of training, experience, or education in GIS, Geography, Computer
Science, Information Systems or related field desired. Ability to provide
innovative and creative business solutions to address changes in data
requirements. Ability to troubleshoot independently and with a team. Ability to
use spatial data to assist in decision making and regulatory compliance.
Knowledge of a diverse range of transportation maintenance program areas.
Knowledge of other data management systems such as Power BI, Business Object, or
Microsoft Access is desired.
