ROLE PURPOSE The Head of People & Business Partner is responsible for partnering with leadership to build organisational capability, drive organisational development (OD), and embed a high-performance culture aligned to BFG Africa’s growth strategy. This role elevates the people function from traditional HR to a strategic business partner, enabling execution, leadership effectiveness, and sustainable business performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Strategic Business Partnering Act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and Executive Team Align people strategy with business priorities and growth objectives Provide insight, challenge, and guidance on organisational effectiveness and performance 2. Organisational Development (OD) & Capability Building Lead and drive organisational development strategy and interventions Build organisational capability aligned to technical, operational, and commercial growth Drive succession planning and leadership pipeline development Ensure the organisation has the capacity and capability to scale effectively 3. Performance Management & Accountability Design and implement a robust performance management framework across all levels Directly support and manage Executive performance frameworks, including KPI setting and evaluation Ensure alignment of individual, team, and business performance objectives Drive a culture of accountability, execution, and consequence management 4. Leadership Development & Culture Coach and enable leaders to build high-performing, accountable teams Strengthen leadership capability, decision-making, and ownership Embed a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement 5. Organisation Design & Effectiveness Lead organisation design, role clarity, and operating model alignment Support restructuring and transformation initiatives Ensure structures enable efficiency, scalability, and margin improvement 6. Change Management & Transformation Lead end-to-end change management initiatives, including restructuring, cultural change, and business transformation Ensure effective adoption of new structures, processes, and ways of working Support strategic initiatives including digital transformation and operational excellence 7. HR Governance & Employee Relations Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation Oversee employee relations, policies, and IR frameworks Provide guidance on complex people matters with fairness and consistency 8. Cross-Functional Business Enablement Enable alignment and collaboration across: Operations Commercial Technical & Engineering Finance Remove organisational bottlenecks that impact execution and performance EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS National Diploma in human resources / bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Industrial Psychology, or related field (Postgraduate qualification advantageous) Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in senior HR / people leadership roles Proven experience as a business partner at executive level within manufacturing, industrial, or technical environments Strong track record in organisational development, change management, and organisational design Demonstrated experience in executive performance management and leadership coaching Strong understanding of South African labour legislation and employee relations High level of business acumen with the ability to link people strategy to operational and commercial outcomes For application: Kindly send your CV and qualification to: BFGrecruitment@bfg-africa.com or send your CV to the Human Resources Department.
