Position Purpose The Health Data & Analytics Analyst will support the Health Data & Analytics team by gathering and analyzing data, assisting in the development of operational reports, ensuring data quality, and contributing to data-driven decision-making. The intern will play a role in maintaining the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of health information by implementing processes and tools for data validation, cleansing, and standardization. Leading data quality initiatives that improve consistency, completeness, and compliance of data assets. Developing automated reports and dashboards that support business and clinical decision-making. Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities through advanced data analysis. Collaborating effectively with operational, technical, and business stakeholders. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across health information and reporting processes. Ensuring strong governance and best practices in data management and reporting. Ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of health information and support data. Partnering with internal teams to identify appropriate data sources and analysis methodologies. Key Relationships Internal: Health Data & Analytics Team, IT Team, Data Management Team, Service Operations & Technical Operations Teams, QA, Professional Services Team, Product Team External: Clients, Third-Party Vendors, Partner Organizations. Essential Functions Data Governance & Data Management Maintain and oversee operational and health-related datasets across multiple systems. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and accessibility through validation and quality assurance processes. Support and implement data governance standards, policies, and best practices. Identify and resolve data discrepancies and process inefficiencies. Assist with metadata management and documentation of data flows and reporting logic. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze operational and healthcare data to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities. Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs for operational and leadership teams. Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports for client consumption. Consolidate and structure data from multiple sources into meaningful business insights. Present findings and recommendations in a clear and user-friendly format. Support forecasting, operational planning, and performance monitoring activities. Support the preparation of reports that consolidate data from multiple sources in a visually appealing and user-friendly format. Exercise sound judgment while analyzing and interpreting data to ensure high levels of accuracy and usefulness for decision-making. Quality Improvement & Process Optimization Monitor data quality metrics and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Recommend process enhancements to improve reporting efficiency and data reliability. Support compliance and initiatives with healthcare data standards and organizational policies. Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline workflows and optimize data usage. Contribute to maintaining the integrity of data assets and ensuring compliance with industry best practices. Technology Management Assist in leveraging available reporting tools to improve data analysis and service delivery. Utilize SQL, Excel, Power BI/Tableau, and other analytics tools to support reporting and analysis. Assist in automating recurring reports and data workflows. Partner with Product and technical teams to troubleshoot data issues and improve system performance and ensure data security. Support secure handling and management of sensitive health information. Behavioral and Technical Capabilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate insights effectively. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to learning and innovation. Basic proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other data management tools. Relevant Experience, Knowledge & Skills 3–5 years of experience in data analytics, health information management, business intelligence, or a related field. Experience working within healthcare, health technology, or operational analytics environments preferred. Experience of privacy, confidentiality, and healthcare compliance requirements is beneficial. Experience with data governance, metadata management, and reporting best practices. Exposure to business operations and data flow, operational reporting, and performance metrics within a healthcare setting is an asset. Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Health Information Management, Computer Science, Data Management, Data Analytics or a related field. Relevant certifications in analytics, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or healthcare data management are advantageous.
