Lead Software Architect

About The Position We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Software Architect to drive the development of our next-generation steer-by-wire systems. In this role, you will lead and support a multidisciplinary team of mechatronics, electrical engineering (EE), and software (SW) experts across both base development and customer projects. You will play a key role in shaping system architecture, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering innovative solutions that meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability. Responsibilities Lead the software architecture design for steer-by-wire systems across base development and customer programs Guide and mentor a cross-functional team of mechatronic, EE, and software engineers Define and maintain scalable, robust, and high-quality software architectures Ensure alignment with industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to deliver integrated solutions Drive continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies Support project planning, risk assessment, and technical decision-making Ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions in line with project milestones Requirements Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field Proven experience in software architecture, ideally within automotive or embedded systems Strong expertise in complex system development, preferably in steer-by-wire or similar technologies Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams Solid understanding of software development processes, quality standards, and safety frameworks (e.g., ISO 26262) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment What We Offer At Kongsberg Automotive, you will be part of a global company shaping the future of mobility.
