ABOUT HEAVISIDE INDUSTRIES
Heaviside Industries builds multi-domain autonomous precision munitions for U.S. and allied special operations and conventional forces. While modern warfare has rapidly evolved with the proliferation of unmanned systems, hyper-precise munitions in contested environments are the future of the battlefield. Economical precision strike capabilities are critical to U.S. and allied war efforts, enabling successful defeat of enemy military assets and infrastructure. Heaviside builds precision munitions designed to operate in GPS-denied and spectrum-jammed battlefields—where traditional systems degrade or fail—without inflated prices or sacrifice to performance.
All engineering and manufacturing is conducted in-house in Heaviside’s Los Angeles, CA headquarters and Oslo, Norway office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Own technical recruiting end-to-end across engineering disciplines — mechanical, electrical, aerodynamics, GNC, embedded, firmware, DSP, software, and manufacturing
Run high-velocity, high-bar searches: build pipelines, drive candidates through process, close offers, and hit aggressive hiring plans without lowering the bar
Partner directly with engineering leaders as a true thought partner on org design, leveling, scorecards, and interview loops
Source the hard-to-find candidates yourself — senior and principal ICs from top technology and hardware startups, and adjacent industries
Own the candidate experience end-to-end — first message through signed offer — with a level of rigor and responsiveness that becomes a recruiting advantage
Build interview loops, calibrate interviewers, and run debriefs that produce sharp, defensible hire/no-hire decisions
Negotiate and complex offers involving equity, relocation, and clearance considerations
Build the recruiting playbook, tools, and metrics: ATS hygiene, pipeline health, conversion rates, and time-to-hire
Mentor and develop junior recruiters and sourcers as the team grows
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, with at least 2 years focused on senior and principal IC hires
Track record hiring across multiple engineering disciplines — not just software — in hardware, aerospace, defense, robotics, or comparable industries
Demonstrated ability to source senior engineers cold and convert them into hires; not dependent on inbound or external agencies
Strong fluency in technical-domain language — you can read a resume in aerodynamics, RF, or firmware and ask a useful follow-up
Closer mentality — you own offers from verbal through signature and have the data to prove your close rates
Comfortable operating with ambiguity and high autonomy in a fast-moving startup environment
Experience building interview loops, scorecards, and calibration practices from scratch
Bonus: experience recruiting cleared candidates or recruiting in ITAR-regulated environments

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
