We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer – Service Provider Pre-Sales Resident Engineer to support key Service Provider customers in Melbourne. The engineer will act as a trusted technical advisor and technical influencer, partnering with solution engineers, advanced services teams, and TAC teams to deliver customer-focused networking solutions.
The ideal candidate must possess strong Service Provider routing, automation, and pre-sales expertise with hands-on experience in Cisco technologies and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop technical solutions for Service Provider customers.
• Build labs, demo environments, and Proof of Concept (POV) setups.
• Configure and support Cisco Service Provider technologies.
• Act as a technical advocate for customers and ensure successful business outcomes.
• Collaborate with solution engineers, TAC teams, and advanced services teams.
• Provide technical consultation and customer presentations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues.
• Support customer solution validation and deployment activities.
• Influence customer technical decisions through strong consultative engagement.
Required Technical Skills
• 5+ years of experience in Service Provider networking environments.
• Strong expertise in:
o OSPF
o BGP
o Segment Routing
o MPLS/VPN technologies
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Service Provider products.
• Strong knowledge of network automation and programmability.
• Proficiency in Python and Ansible.
• Experience in routing, switching, and large-scale SP environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Soft Skills
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive technical discussions.
• Strong collaboration skills across business and technical teams.
• Ability to work independently in onsite customer environments.
Work Model
• 100% Onsite role.
• Engineer must be available onsite during all working days as required by the customer.
