Senior AI Engineer Remote (Ireland Based) | 12-Month Contract | US Product Engineering Team TechHeads has partnered with an innovative US technology organisation seeking a Senior AI Engineer to support the development of next-generation AI-powered product capabilities and platform enhancements. This role will focus on designing, building, and deploying production-grade AI solutions across customer-facing products, internal tooling, and automation initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with US-based engineering and product teams to integrate modern AI technologies into scalable SaaS environments. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and deploy AI-powered product features and services Develop and optimise LLM-driven applications and workflows Build scalable backend services supporting AI functionality Integrate AI models and APIs into existing product ecosystems Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams to identify AI opportunities Develop retrieval, prompt engineering, and agent-based workflows Improve model performance, reliability, observability, and cost efficiency Contribute to AI architecture and platform design decisions Build evaluation frameworks and testing strategies for AI systems Collaborate across distributed US and European engineering teams Required Experience 5+ years of software engineering experience 2+ years working directly with AI/ML or Generative AI technologies Strong Python development experience Experience building applications using modern LLM frameworks and APIs Experience integrating AI solutions into production environments Strong understanding of API development and backend systems Experience with vector databases, embeddings, or retrieval systems Strong problem-solving and systems design capability Desirable Experience Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or open-source LLMs Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, DSPy, or agent frameworks Experience fine-tuning or evaluating AI models Exposure to MLOps and model deployment pipelines Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or scalable infrastructure Experience building AI copilots, assistants, or workflow automation systems Technical Environment Python FastAPI / Flask OpenAI / Anthropic APIs LangChain / LlamaIndex Vector Databases PostgreSQL / NoSQL Databases AWS / Azure / GCP Docker / Kubernetes CI/CD Pipelines GitHub Contract Details 12-Month Initial Contract Fully Remote (Ireland Based) Competitive Daily Rate Long-term extension potential Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI initiatives Strong overlap with US East Coast working hours preferred
