Job description
About us
Hivenet builds distributed cloud products across storage, compute, and AI-related services. We’re a small, growing team, which means priorities can shift and collaboration is direct. We value clarity, follow-through, and work that holds up under real constraints.
About the role
We’re hiring a Social Media & Community Manager to help build and run our community and ambassador programs.
You’ll work closely with the PMM, who owns strategy and content direction. You’ll own the day-to-day: keeping programs moving, coordinating with contributors, and reporting what’s working. You’ll have real operational autonomy, and you’ll be expected to use it.
This isn’t a role where everything is figured out before it reaches you. You’ll help shape how the programs run as they mature.
What you’ll do
Build and maintain a genuine presence in the communities our buyers and users already inhabit. That means engaging, not broadcasting.
Coordinate our ambassador program: onboarding, keeping contributors active, tracking output, and flagging items that deserve more attention.
Track what matters and report on it clearly. Mentions, engagement, sign-ups, and ambassador activity. You’ll know whether it’s working before anyone has to ask.
Run the logistics behind AMAs, Q&A sessions, and cohort milestones. Good preparation is most of the job.
Work with PMM to apply the content brief. You’ll know when to act and when to check in.
What you’ll bring
Genuine familiarity with Reddit and how online communities actually work. Not theoretical.
Comfort running operational programs with moving parts. You can hold multiple threads without dropping them.
Clear, accurate written communication. You’ll be writing in community spaces and to contributors. It needs to be on-brand without being stiff.
Enough judgment to know when something needs escalation and when it doesn’t.
Patience for work that compounds slowly. The best community outcomes take months to build.
Nice to have
Experience in or around an ambassador or developer community program.
Some exposure to cloud, AI, or developer communities.
Familiarity with attribution basics - UTM links, sign-up tracking, that kind of thing.
Why join
We're a full remote company, you can work from anywhere !
You’ll work in frontier technologies.
You’ll own programs with real visibility, not a task queue managed by someone else.
The work is measurable. You’ll see the impact of what you do.
As the programs grow, your scope grows with them.
You’ll have a PMM who is directly available and invested in making this work, not someone who hands you a brief and disappears.
