Software Implementation Consultant (B2B / Freelance) Location: Remote (Italy-based) Contract: Long-term B2B / Freelance (12+ months) Start: ASAP Scope of engagement: Long-term collaboration on IT/software implementation projects. Estimated workload comparable to a full-time engagement, with flexibility in scheduling. Compensation: Annual contract value: €24,000 – €40,000 gross Fixed monthly retainer Performance-based bonuses for successful software implementations Important: This role is offered on a B2B basis. Candidates must have, or be ready to obtain, Partita IVA status in Italy. Role Overview We are looking for a Software Implementation Consultant to support pre-sales and implementation activities for retail software solutions. This role combines client-facing communication with hands-on involvement in software deployment and user enablement. The position is offered under a Service Agreement (B2B) and is suitable for professionals registered as Partita IVA in Italy. Key Responsibilities Participate in pre-sales activities, including client meetings, needs discussions, and software demonstrations Support the implementation projects of Retano’s software solutions Conduct pilot deployments and pre-project system setups Configure the system according to project requirements Deliver user training and provide implementation-related support Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution Requirements 3–5 years of overall professional experience in one or more of the following areas: food or fashion retail, IT, digital, or technology-enabled business environments Strong motivation to build a career in IT solution implementation and readiness to learn new tools, systems, and implementation approaches Experience working with business or digital systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, SCM, POS, analytics, or similar platforms) as a user, coordinator, analyst, or in an operational role Willingness to develop implementation, consulting, and client-facing skills over time Italian: full professional fluency (primary working language) English: professional working proficiency (B1-B2 level or higher) Ability to work remotely from Italy and invoice services as an independent professional (B2B / Partita IVA) Nice to have Basic understanding of business or retail processes and how technology supports daily operations Experience in communication with internal or external stakeholders, including system walkthroughs, training, support, or presentations (formal or informal) Experience with retail IT solutions Spanish at B2 level or higher would be a plus.
