Solutions Architect – Aerospace & Defense Hybrid onsite in either Buffalo, NY or Rochester NY Full time 40 hours per week | CDW Contract Coworker to Hire W2 only (Not available for C2C / Partnering) CDW is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant technology solutions supporting advanced aerospace and defense operations. This role partners across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and IT to drive enterprise architecture initiatives including Digital Thread, Model-Based Engineering (MBE), PLM/CAD/MES/ERP ecosystems, cloud modernization, AI-enabled architecture, and Industry 4.0 solutions. Key Responsibilities Architect secure cloud and hybrid solutions across AWS, Azure, and GovCloud environments Design enterprise integration patterns including API-led, event-driven, streaming, and batch architectures Support Digital Thread strategy and lifecycle traceability across engineering, manufacturing, and production systems Lead architecture reviews, risk assessments, and secure-by-design initiatives aligned with NIST and CMMC frameworks Develop scalable enterprise solutions integrating PLM, ERP, MES, and manufacturing platforms Provide technical leadership for DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and enterprise integration initiatives Collaborate with Product Owners, Program Managers, Engineering, and business leaders to align technology strategy with operational goals Evaluate vendor solutions for scalability, interoperability, compliance, and total cost of ownership Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture or senior technical leadership Experience within aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries Hands-on experience with: PLM platforms such as Teamcenter ERP systems including SAP or Oracle AWS, Azure, and/or GovCloud environments Integration technologies such as MuleSoft, Kafka, Informatica, Talend, or eQube Strong expertise in: Distributed systems and enterprise architecture Cybersecurity frameworks including NIST and CMMC TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture methodologies DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM) Enterprise integration and API ecosystem design Location Must be local to the Buffalo, NY or Rochester, NY area and willing to work 2 days per week on site.
