About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) department. This pivotal role involves supporting our forecasting activities, management reporting, and financial analysis processes. The successful candidate will develop and maintain complex financial models that support performance evaluation, operational efficiencies, and strategic decision-making. A significant aspect of this position involves managing capital expenditure (CapEx) forecasting and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in project approvals and financial tracking. The role requires collaboration with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure forecasts are aligned with business objectives and operational realities. Additionally, the Senior Financial Analyst will prepare reports for management and Board review, contribute to process improvements, and support system administration to optimize reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with an MBA and/or CPA certification preferred. A minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis or accounting is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong expertise in computer-based budgeting, financial modeling, and data analysis. Experience with enterprise systems such as Oracle and SAP is highly desirable, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. A solid understanding of GAAP and FASB regulations will be advantageous. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to interact effectively across various organizational levels. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Lead the entire lifecycle of the Capital Expenditures (CapEx) planning process, from Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) approval to project completion and closure.
Manage multi-year CapEx forecasts and budgets by collaborating with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure data accuracy and relevance.
Oversee the AFE workflow system, verifying data integrity and facilitating prompt project approvals.
Conduct lease versus buy analyses for AFEs in partnership with site teams and corporate stakeholders.
Develop summaries of CapEx spending and depreciation expenses by legal entity to support treasury and tax functions.
Maintain and improve models for EBITDA waterfalls, ensuring variance explanations are accurate and comprehensive.
Prepare detailed reports for management review and presentations to the Board of Directors.
Enhance planning and forecasting processes by working with data contributors to improve analysis of business drivers, especially related to CapEx.
Advocate for continuous system improvements to increase efficiencies and deepen understanding of reporting processes across the organization.
Assist in preparing quarterly forecasts, long-range plans, and annual budgets for consolidated financial statements.
Support other departments with financial analysis, reviews, and updates as needed.
Recommend and implement updates to policies and procedures to optimize financial planning processes.
Administer Oracle system functions, ensuring accurate data transfer between Oracle and SAP systems, with support from IT teams.
Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
