Recruiter Notice: We respectfully ask external recruiters and staffing agencies not to submit candidates. We only accept direct applications.
We're looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. In this role, you'll own core accounting operations — cash reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet account management — while also managing corporate AP and spend processes. You'll support the accounting team on consolidated reporting and close-related projects, and you'll be expected to drive process improvements and apply AI tools to automate workflows and reduce manual effort across your areas of ownership. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in accuracy, follows up relentlessly, and is energized by finding better ways to get things done.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations: Cash, Reconciliations, & Journal Entries
Reconcile corporate cash accounts and assigned balance sheet accounts (prepaids, etc.) monthly; investigate and resolve reconciling items with complete transaction support
Prepare and post monthly journal entries across income statement and balance sheet accounts.
Record weekly cash flow and sweep-style transactions across operating accounts.
Utilize close management tools to record tasks and reconciliations.
Identify recurring reconciling items and implement upstream fixes to eliminate them at the source
Support fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure coding across the subsidiary portfolio
Assist the team with allocating expenses and ensuring proper recording of those expenses.
Corporate Spend & Accounts Payable
Manage corporate AP intake and processing to appropriate GL accounts and departments.
Manage corporate card transaction coding, reimbursement accounting.
Maintain accurate vendor records and resolve payment issues
Leverage Ai to do variance analysis during month end close reviews.
Cross-Functional Support & Process Improvement
Support the Controller/Assistant Controller with other projects as the business evolves.
Drive process improvements, documentation enhancements, and automation of repeatable workflows using AI tools (Copilot, automation agents, etc.)
Document and capture procedures to build institutional knowledge of accounting operations workflows.
Apply emerging technology and AI tools to accounting workflows — automate reconciliations, accelerate close processes, and reduce manual effort across your areas of ownership
Qualifications
Required
2+ years of professional experience in accounting, audit, or a related role (corporate environment preferred)
Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
Solid grasp of GAAP fundamentals and the ability to apply them to real transactions
High proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, structured data hygiene)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills — clear, professional, and personable across all audiences
Ability to manage recurring deadlines, prioritize independently, and follow up persistently to obtain support
Receptive to feedback and committed to incorporating it into your work
Preferred
Experience supporting multi-entity organizations, allocations, intercompany activity, or shared service models
Experience with corporate credit card programs and reimbursement workflows (e.g., Ramp)
Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, etc.)
Experience with month end close management tools (e.g., Floqast)
Comfort with AI tools and a willingness to explore how automation can improve accounting workflows
