Technical Lead

About the role Light Speed Technologies is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with proven AI/LLM experience and team leadership track record to lead engineering execution on one of our most ambitious product engagements. This is not a junior or mid role. We're looking for someone who has shipped production AI features, has led a team of 3–5 engineers, and is comfortable owning technical direction, code review, sprint rhythm, team management and direct stakeholder communication. What you'll own Architecture and technical direction on the product — feature design, data modeling, integration choices, performance. AI/LLM features — embeddings, vector search, LLM-driven decisioning, agentic flows. Take features from spec to production. Team leadership — manage and mentor 3 engineers. Run the sprint rhythm (planning, standups, retros). Own code review authority. Set the technical bar. Direct stakeholder communication — weekly product/engineering sync. Translate business asks into technical plans. Push back when needed. Engineering standards — improve code quality, testing discipline, deployment practices, documentation. Mentor the team into senior-level habits. Required 5+ years professional engineering experience, with at least 2 years at a senior level. Strong full-stack production experience with: React, Next.js 14/15 (App Router, RSC, server actions), TypeScript, Node.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL. Shipped production AI/LLM features, concrete examples required. Production experience with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, AI SDK, embeddings, vector DBs (pgvector, Pinecone, etc.), RAG pipelines, or agentic systems. Engineering management / tech lead experience, formally managed and led 3+ engineers, run sprint cycles, owned code review. Excellent written and spoken English, you'll communicate daily with international stakeholders. Comfort with startup pace. ambiguous specs, fast iteration, multiple stakeholders. Background at an AI product startup or technical agency servicing such cstartups. Tunisia-based Leadership & delivery ownership You will be the single point of accountability for delivery. That means owning the stakeholder sync, the team's sprint rhythm, and the engineering bar. Concretely: Client side: weekly sync, sync summaries, scope changes captured in writing, structured push-back when a request would compromise quality. Engineering side: Improving the process, daily presence in standups, in-the-moment feedback on PRs, hard conversations when patterns emerge. Hiring & growth: sit on every engineering interview panel — you co-own who joins the team and the bar they're held to. Resilience: rotate ownership, document architectural decisions, eliminate single-points-of-failure on critical systems.
