As an Accountant, you will be involved in the accounting and reporting of fixed assets, capital projects, leases, and financing arrangements. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on reconciliations, variance analysis, audit support, research and resolution of accounting issues, and the preparation of journal entries. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records while supporting ongoing process improvements and compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. Responsibilities Involved in month-end close activities related to fixed assets, capital projects, finance and operating leases, and financing arrangements, including the preparation of journal entries, account analysis, reconciliations, and variance investigations. Supports the accounting and reporting for fixed assets and Construction in Progress (CIP), ensuring capital expenditures are accurately recorded, capitalized, transferred, retired, and depreciated in accordance with company policies. Supports the accounting and reporting for finance and operating leases, ensuring they are properly recorded and assists with investigating and resolving lease-related discrepancies. Supports the accounting and reporting for internal and external loans, ensuring they are properly recorded. Prepares reconciliations and investigates discrepancies relating to capital projects, fixed assets, leases, and loans, and assists with the timely resolution of issues. Prepares and posts journal entries related to capital expenditures, asset disposals, depreciation, lease accounting, financing transactions, accruals, and reclassifications. Assists auditors by gathering supporting documentation, responding to audit requests, and explaining accounting treatments for assets, projects, leases, and financing activities. Collaborates with operational, procurement, treasury, tax, and project management teams to obtain information, investigate issues, and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. Contributes to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance controls, streamline reconciliations, and improve efficiency. Supports special projects and other ad hoc accounting assignments as required. Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. At least 5 years of accounting experience. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications. Strong analytical skills to define problems, gather relevant data, and draw actionable conclusions. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization and across departments. Experience working with Oracle, Salesforce, and Visual Lease is an advantage. Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus.
