Job description
The Analyst II is responsible for performing routine testing in the chemistry lab using multiple techniques such as HPLC, UV-VIS, FTIR, Wet chemistry, ICP-OES, GC-MS. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in a contract laboratory environment and able to handle a wide range of chemistry-related tests and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The candidate must be able to ensure that the activities are in compliance with current GMP/GLP, quality system regulations, safety, and corporate policy standards. The candidate must have the ability to train other chemists on performing chemistry testing. The candidate must also ensure the team's activities follow current GMP/GLP, quality system regulations, safety, and corporate policy standards. The candidate must also be able to provide technical expertise within and external to the organization and assist in development of new services. The incumbent must be energetic, exceedingly well-organized, flexible, and enjoy the challenges that a contract laboratory environment brings. The incumbent must have the ability to interact with staff and customers in a fast-paced environment, consistently under pressure, while remaining proactive, resourceful, and efficient. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Key Accountabilities: Perform routine analysis using various techniques such as, but not limited to, HPLC, UV-VIS, wet chemistry; Execute Validation, verification and method transfer activities Support in purchase orders; Review technical data, documents, and proposals as required. Troubleshoot technical issues/ difficulties with methods. Carry out and support OOS/OOT investigations; Review new methods to ensure available reagents, standards, methods, etc. are available prior to testing or scheduling; Ensure adherence to all quality procedures in the department; Work productively and cooperatively with other departments and supervisors to attain Company objectives; Follow SOPs on investigations and CAPAs.
Bachelor’s degree and/or M.S. in Chemistry; Master's degree is an asset; Minimum 5 years of experience in a GMP environment; Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience on a variety of techniques. Soft Skills Must speak and write English fluently ; Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to present responses to clients and auditors, prepare reports, and maintain a high level of information flow with internal and external clients; Must be articulate; Excellent organizational skills; High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail; Ability to work independently, while supervising a collaborative, team-based, matrixed department; Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure; High level of professionalism, maturity, good judgment, and discretion when dealing in confidential matters; Must be mature, proactive, self-disciplined, and able to demonstrate a high level of productivity and self-motivation; Demonstrated excellent departmental work performance and attendance record. Technical Skills Knowledge of cGMP is essential; Strong troubleshooting capabilities; Proficient computer skills with a high level of competence with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). WORKING CONDITIONS This position will be working in office and lab environments. Moderate level of activity and some light lifting requirements to fulfill any required duties. Evening or weekend work may occasionally be required.
