The Missile Solutions segment at the L3Harris Canoga Park, CA site is seeking an Associate, Materials Process Engineer to join the engineering materials process team. We are looking for an entry-level with broad theoretical job knowledge in materials characterization, mechanical testing, and materials property engineering. The candidate will work under general direction and guidance within standard processes for non-routine tasks. Contribute to systems and process changes in work routines. Support engineering efforts related to material property curve generation, design allowables development and testing plans, fracture mechanics characterization, and nonconformance resolution (NCR) material property support. Essential Functions: Support development, implementation, control, and troubleshooting of cleaning and electrochemical processes used in production and repair environments. Evaluate materials and surface conditions to ensure compliance with process requirements, product performance needs, and quality standards. Assist in contamination investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation related to manufacturing and processing issues. Interpret and apply ASTM standards, Military Specifications, Weapons Specifications, and other internal and customer-driven process requirements. Support process qualification, verification, and documentation for chemical cleaning and plating operations. Work with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, design engineering, and environmental health and safety to maintain robust and compliant processes. Prepare technical reports, work instructions, and process documentation Qualifications: To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field or have completed their bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age. Preferred Additional Skills: Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Excel) for processing and presenting material property test data. Familiarity with ASTM mechanical testing standards. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $68,000 - $126,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
