Job description
About ElectraNet ElectraNet builds, owns, operates and maintains South Australia’s high-voltage electricity transmission network, connecting generators to distributors and major customers, and powering homes, businesses and communities. Our people describe our culture as supportive, inclusive and community-focused, where we genuinely want each other to succeed. As we lead the transition to a clean energy future, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions that enable smarter asset management and stronger network performance. The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong transmission lines background and practical, hands-on experience to develop their career in project management while contributing to the safe and effective delivery of critical transmission infrastructure works. As an Associate Refurbishment and Maintenance Project Manager, you will support the delivery of transmission line refurbishment projects and packaged maintenance programs across ElectraNet’s network. These projects may involve the replacement, renewal or upgrade of transmission line structures, conductors, foundations, easements, access tracks and associated line infrastructure. Working under the guidance of experienced Project Managers and the Maintenance Delivery Manager Lines, you will support projects and work packages from initiation and planning through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover and close-out. You will help coordinate contractors, engineering deliverables, materials, outages, costs, schedules and field activities to keep works progressing safely and effectively. This role is ideally suited to someone who already understands transmission line construction or maintenance from a practical delivery perspective and is ready to build broader project management, commercial and governance capability. It provides a structured pathway into refurbishment and maintenance project management, with increased responsibility as your capability and experience develop. In this role you will also: Coordinate activities relating to transmission line structures, conductors, foundations, easements, access tracks and associated infrastructure. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, forecasts, registers, reports and delivery documentation. Monitor design, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out activities, identifying emerging issues and escalating them appropriately. Review contractor schedules, progress updates, milestones and deliverables. Coordinate drawings, technical documentation, materials, free-issue equipment and other information required for field delivery. Support outage planning and coordinate line works with network access, operational and maintenance requirements. Assist with project budgeting, monthly forecasting, cost tracking and reconciliation. Monitor contractor and supplier performance and help resolve delivery issues. Maintain project risks, issues, actions, variations and governance documentation. Support compliance with health, safety, environmental, cultural heritage, land-access and legislative requirements. Participate in procurement activities and support contract administration, purchase orders, claims, variations and invoice validation. Support testing, commissioning, handover and project close-out activities. Participate in contractor desktop and field audits, non-conformance management and lessons-learned activities. About You You bring practical knowledge of transmission line works and understand what is required to successfully coordinate activities in a field-based, safety-critical environment. You may have developed your experience through transmission line maintenance, construction, supervision, project coordination, engineering support or contractor-side delivery. Importantly, you can translate hands-on field knowledge into well-planned, accurately documented and effectively coordinated project outcomes. You are organised, proactive and comfortable working across field crews, contractors, engineers, planners, operations teams and commercial stakeholders. You take ownership of your work, maintain accurate records and escalate emerging safety, technical, cost or schedule concerns early. To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring: Experience working in field delivery, operational, construction or maintenance environments. Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers, materials, technical information and field activities. An understanding of how transmission line works are planned and delivered around outages, network access and operational requirements. Developing knowledge of project management principles, scheduling, cost control, risk management and governance processes. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities, maintain accurate records and meet agreed deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with technical, operational, commercial and external stakeholders. Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgement to identify issues, seek guidance and escalate concerns when required. Awareness of health, safety, environmental, cultural heritage and sustainability requirements associated with infrastructure delivery. Experience using SAP, Microsoft Project or related ERP, scheduling or project management systems will be highly regarded. Tertiary qualification or relevant professional certifications in a related discipline, or relevant industry experience. White Card training, or a willingness to obtain it. Employee Benefits We’re proud to offer a workplace that is supportive, inclusive and genuinely committed to your success. When you join ElectraNet, you join a team that values diversity, collaboration and continuous learning. For this role, we offer a competitive remuneration package starting from $146,000 plus superannuation and a performance bonus eligibility of up to 15%. In addition to this, we also offer: 5 weeks annual leave. 15 days personal/carer’s leave. 16 weeks paid parental leave. Flexible work options & wellbeing programs.
