Base Caretaker

General responsibilities Maintaining and caretaking of Field operational base premisses and equipment. Regularly inspecting functionality of premisses, installations, assets, and vehicles to ensure that all are in good working order. Assist in a stock system control and store keeping. Assisting with inventory verification and asset tracking/ Other duties and tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor/ Specific duties Maintaining the property, including of electrical, A/C and plumbing installations. Looking after and operating machinery at the sites (generators, pumps, tools, gardening equipment etc.) Conducting or scheduling regular and repair maintenance on power generators and office machinery. Informing logistics assistant of requirements for spare parts and consumables. Performing gardening and cleaning duties. Issuing Fuel to vehicles and generators. Reporting on fuel level in tanks and usage of fuel to Fleet Officer. Keeping NPA vehicles always clean and in a good visible manner. Assisting & performing logistic duties at such as personnel pickups, petty cash purchases when required, When required, assist warehouse staff to prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, offload, pack, wrap, label, ship, deliver). Assist when required in all the programs and projects spot checking and full inventory. Reporting any mechanical failure incident/accident immediately to the line manager. Providing the technical advice related to the procurement related to equipment maintenance when required, Performing any other duties directly related to the position as may be required. Qualifications: Education: Secondary school diploma in a technical or other relevant field is desirable. Good technical skills. Experience: Two years or more experience in the relevant logistic field. Ability to work effectively under difficult conditions is desirable. Personal Competencies: Good communication and interpersonal skills. Systematic and organised in approach, including accuracy, consistency, and attention to details, tenacity, and the ability to work under pressure Ability to meet deadlines and work calmly under pressure with limited supervision. Additional Considerations: The Base caretaker is to abide by the policies and personal code of conduct set by the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) and represent the organisation in a loyal and responsible manner.
