The BIM Manager is a highly motivated technical leader with strong expertise in BIM modelling, project information management, and team leadership. The role is responsible for developing and implementing the BIM strategy across the assigned region. The BIM Manager supports, trains, and promotes consistent application of the Americas BIM Execution Plan (BEP) methodology. This includes processes, model development levels, authoring tools, data exchange formats, and related digital delivery requirements. Leadership and Project Support BIM Manager ensures that the regional BIM strategy is implemented consistently and effectively. The role also contributes to the development and standardisation of design tools and workflows used in project delivery across GHD. Be part of the dynamic culture! Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Supervise the Project BIM Coordinator(s) and project team as assigned by Delivery Manager or Business Group Leader (BGL). Support all proposals from a BIM perspective specific to scope, methodology and budget; contribute to discipline BoE and/or BoD; engaged with project team to determine best BIM technology(s) for project to better capture productivity gains. Function as Project BIM Manager and/or function as Project BIM Coordinator (as required). Actively participate and collaborate with BIM Director, BIM Managers, BGL, Software Managers, Service Line Leaders and Digital Transformation for the development and standardization of BIM tools and workflows. Provide and facilitate training to BIM Managers / Coordinators, Project Design team, Managers, Project Managers, and raise awareness across the region about digital delivery tools, BIM processes, BIM deliverables, assigned by Delivery Manager or BGL. Be cognizant of advancement of Global BIM practices. Support in the advancement of regional and geographically specific BIM practices. Identify opportunities for geographical work sharing and collaboration with resources outside of DDO, such as Software Managers and BIM Leads as assigned by Delivery Manager or BGL. Be engaged/ included in region business discussion with BGL, PMs, and DMs with regards to regional strategic planning with technology, standards, and BIM processes. Accountable For: Ensuring regional growth and communication of standards, latest developments, strategic efforts, software and workflow updates, and all relevant progress. Elevating concerns and resistance to change to leadership and advocating the GHD/Digital Design Organisation (DDO) initiatives and objectives. Deliver lunch and learns meetings with regional project staff (Designers, PMs, DMs, Engineers, Architects, etc.) to update on current and innovative technical tools, procedures, workflows, and standards as outlined by the Delivery Manager or BGL. Assist in the development of GHD/DDO BIM Initiative with regards to project delivery, standards, workflows, and procedures. General Develop a sense of responsibility for own actions (and those of others) and face challenges openly. Perform delegated tasks as per the project task or other assignments assigned by Delivery Manager or BGL. Present ideas for improvement or innovation to the projects in a manner that is supported by relevant research assigned by Delivery Manager or BGL. Excellent judgement and decisiveness to ensure positive outcomes. Proficient technical writer, presenter, and excellent communication. Ability to work without supervision and be proactive. Proven team leader and ensuring knowledge transfer via providing on the job training and mentoring of staff. Consummate team player, cooperative with open sharing of information and knowledge. Project management skills and able to think strategically and innovatively. Ability to understand and interpret the BIM requirements as outlined in project contracts. Understanding of GHD Winning Work and Project Delivery systems. Ability to manage peak work periods for delivery. Ability to delegate tasks to project staff as required. Technical Understanding of the technical aspects of projects and how these contribute to the project success factors. Understanding of Asset Classification Systems – e.g., Uni-class / Omni-class. Understanding of ISO19650, including parts 1,2, 3 & 5 Understanding of LOD framework and LOD Matrix specific to BIM Forum criteria/guidelines and associated/expected LOI. Understanding of Project Information Model (PIM) Strategy Understanding of BIM Digital Dimensions; 3D, 4D, 5D, etc. and ensure modelling disciplines understand requirements and suitability for federated model inclusion. Understanding of BIM Uses and benefits. Understanding of Common Data Environment and Information Management. Understanding of software and application interoperability Understanding of Model Checking, Drawing Checking and QA processes. Experience developing BIM Execution Plans, Task Information Delivery Plans, Master Information Delivery Plans. Design management skills, including a high level of design coordination and technical understanding. Troubleshooting abilities and understanding of interoperability of different software at a project level. Understanding of asset management integration with a BIM environment Behavioural Excellent soft skills, interpersonal and good listening skills, and collaboration abilities. Excellent judgement and decisiveness to ensure positive outcomes and negotiation skills. Ability to influence to ensure desired outcomes. What will you bring to the team: Minimum 7-10 years’ experience working within BIM with managerial project experience. Experience of leading multi-discipline projects and teams. Experience of managing Common Data Environments. Appropriate BIM certification (affiliations/certifications vary across regions) #LI-PN1 Please note: The salary range for this role is CAD 100,000 to 150,000. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations.
