BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE Monk is an AI-native accounts receivable (AR) platform for B2B companies, helping businesses get paid fast. The AR stack is broken. Finance teams still chase payments with spreadsheets, reconcile AR in spreadsheets and use software that was built a decade ago. We think this is one of the largest, most ignored problems in B2B software. Trillions of dollars sit in outstanding invoices and the tools to unlock cashflow are stuck in the past. We are rebuilding Monk with AI, speed, and real craftsmanship. We are already doing this for over $1B of accounts receivables. We are early, the upside is enormous, and the hardest, but also the most rewarding work is ahead of us. THE ROLE: We are looking for a Business Development Representative who can get us in the door. We are not looking for someone who sends templated sequences and hopes for the best. We are looking for someone who actively studies accounts to understand them, smashes the phones, writes sharp outreach and books meetings that actually convert. What matters to us is how hungry you are and whether you can book quality meetings. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: - Own top-of-funnel pipeline generation for B2B companies - Research accounts, identify the right buyers, and craft outreach that earns replies - Run multi-channel prospecting across cold calling, email, LinkedIn, and creative tactics that nobody else is trying - Work directly with the founders and AEs on messaging, ICP definition, and outbound strategy - Be the first touch a prospect has with Monk. You set the tone for every deal that follows - Leverage AI at every step: account research, personalization, sequencing, and pipeline tracking - Build the outbound playbook from scratch. There is no existing motion for you to inherit WHO YOU ARE: - 0-2 years in a BDR, SDR, or outbound sales role at a VC-backed startup - You have hit or exceeded quota before and can point to specific numbers - You have booked meetings through cold outreach, not just warm inbound - Creative prospector. You find angles that get past the noise and you are not afraid to pick up the phone - Owner. You do not wait to be told which accounts to work. You build your own lists and run your own plays - You thrive in chaos. You have worked in environments where nothing was handed to you and you figured it out anyway - Strong writer. Your emails are tight, specific, and sound like a human wrote them - AI-native. Not tomorrow and not the end of the week, but today - this hour. We love shipping fast to delight our Customers - Radical clarity: We believe in getting to the truth. It is important that all of us reason from the same version of reality (the truth) so that we can get the best result. We strive to get the truth by any means necessary. This means being open to feedback, obsessing over improving from our mistakes and clear communication WHY SOLVE THIS PROBLEM NOW: - A broken market and a real shot at owning it. AR is huge, ignored, and ready to be rebuilt. We're early and the surface area is enormous - $T+ market and max EV from a single AR wedge - No clear winner has emerged in this massive category. It can be us - Insulated from labs. This workflow is complex, too many integrations are required and the last mile in AR is too bespoke for general purpose models - Hard problem worth solving. Revenue intelligence is challenging and inherently unsexy.
