Business Intelligence Analyst – Wholesale Trading Attractive Salary & Benefits 36.5 Hour week (Hybrid) Newtownabbey (Must reside within daily commuting distance) Who are we? A look into the role Henderson Wholesale is a leading wholesaler in Northern Ireland, supplying goods to more than 450 stores across well-known brands including SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO. Working at the heart of this network, our Wholesale Trading team helps ensure stores have the right products, at the right time, to meet the needs of their local customers. We source from local farmers, growers and producers and are proud to contribute to our local economy and environment. Wholesale Trading is a fast-moving, commercially focused environment where decisions about product ranges, pricing, promotions, availability and performance influence stores across Northern Ireland. The team works closely with colleagues across the wider business to respond to changing customer needs, support store performance and identify opportunities for growth. This gives you exposure to a broad wholesale operation and the chance to understand how commercial decisions move from data and insight into practical action. The Purpose of the Role: As Data Analyst, you will help shape smarter commercial decisions across Henderson Wholesale by delivering trusted QlikSense solutions for our Trading teams. Working closely with stakeholders, you will translate business questions into meaningful analysis, helping colleagues understand performance, identify opportunities and act with confidence. You will turn complex data into clear, actionable insight by creating intuitive dashboards, refining data models and strengthening reporting capabilities. Your work will support both day-to-day trading activity and longer-term strategic priorities, with clear visibility of its impact across the business. This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise with commercial curiosity, build strong relationships with the people who use your insights and deepen your understanding of wholesale trading. You will see how your work supports decisions across a large store network making data easier to understand and delivering practical improvements that colleagues can use. Working as Data Analyst you will: Develop and maintain QlikSense applications, dashboards, and reports. Create QVD files for efficient data retrieval. Implement data modelling techniques (Normalised / Denormalised / Snowflake / Star Schema) Analyse user requirements: Design and develop interactive visualisations and charts/report outputs, enhancements and modifications. Apply set analysis and other advanced QlikSense functionalities. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and meet their data requirements. Manage User Acceptance testing (UAT) and implementation, ensuring strict systems governance, managing change, test plans and business sign-off. Co-ordinate and maintain technical documentation and ensure best practices in QlikSense development. Train end users as required. Lead problem resolution; resolving business issues by working with internal teams and cross-functional groups through problem resolution, strategic alignment, partnership development and continuous improvement Skills for Success Joining us as Data Analyst the minimum criteria you’ll need is: A minimum of 1 years of hands-on experience in Qlik Sense, Power BI, Tableau or any other BI Related tool Previous experience supporting improvements to digital systems, processes, or ways of working, and working collaboratively to help deliver change and achieve positive outcomes. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with large datasets Experienced in working across diverse teams and adapting to changing priorities, with a strong focus on collaboration, quality, and delivering work on time. Hold a full, clean UK or EU driving licence with access to your own vehicle for travel purposes. Comfortable working independently or within a team, managing tasks with minimal supervision. Strong communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Creative problem-solver, passionate about innovation and continuous improvement. Capable of delivering high-quality work in fast-paced, dynamic environments while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines. It is Desirable if you have: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience with web integration and advanced SQL techniques. This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
