Union : Non-Union New or Replacement : New Number of Vacancies : 1 Site : Toronto Western Hospital Department : Movement Disorders Clinic Reports to : Dr. Lorraine Kalia Hours : 37.5 hours per week Salary : $37.47 - $46.84 per hour Shifts : Day Status : Temporary Full-time Closing Date: September 30, 2026 Position Summary The Toronto Western Hospital Movement Disorders Clinic is a leader in Parkinson’s disease research and runs numerous clinical studies, including pharmacological studies evaluating new therapies for Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders. We are looking for a highly motivated clinical research professional with prior clinical trials experience to join our multidisciplinary research team. Working under the direction of the Clinical Research Manager and Principal Investigators, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and coordination of a variety of clinical trials. Duties · Recruiting study participants (e.g. identifying and screening potential participants, obtaining informed consent) · Scheduling and coordinating complex patient visit schedules as per study protocol · Planning and executing all aspects of study visits schedules, including recording adverse events and concomitant medications, administering questionnaires including cognitive questionnaires and PROMs, vital signs, kit prep and sample collection, assisting with lumbar punctures, sample processing and shipping according to study protocol · Performing source documentation in UHN’s EMR (Epic) and carrying out all aspects of study data collection and source documentation according to UHN policy, ICH-GCP guidelines, and study protocol · Executing trial-related administrative tasks, such as submissions to the Research Ethics Board and other regulatory agencies as required, preparation of study materials and electronic order sets in Epic throughout study start-up and trial maintenance, creation and maintenance of investigator study files, completion of relevant study CRFs and logs, timely database entries, and collation of regulatory documents · Liaising with CROs/sponsors, external stakeholders, and members of the clinical research team (e.g. for monitoring visits and/or audits) · Organizing and attending trial-related meetings · Contributing to protocol development · Bachelor’s degree, or recognized equivalent, in a health or science-related discipline · Minimum three (3) years of clinical and/or professional experience required · Experience in the coordination and administration of clinical trials · Experience with patient-facing contact and informed consent in a clinical setting · Experience with clinical trials in neurology and/or investigator initiated trials preferred · Knowledge of research regulations such as ICH/GCP guidelines, Tri-Council policy (TCPS2), Declaration of Helsinki, Health Canada · Experience with research regulatory submissions (REB, Health Canada) strongly preferred · Knowledge of IATA shipping regulations and basic laboratory procedures · Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification preferred · Phlebotomy certification strongly preferred · Postgraduate certificate in clinical research an asset · Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (i.e. SOCRA, ACRP) an asset · Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills · Excellent decision-making, listening, and conflict resolution skills · Self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and work independently with accuracy in a dynamic and fast-paced environment within a multidisciplinary team Why join UHN?
