About The Role The Associate Cloud Engineer at Nuvama Group plays a vital role in supporting and optimizing the company's cloud operations across AWS and Azure platforms. This position involves assisting in day-to-day cloud management activities, ensuring cost efficiency, security compliance, and operational stability. The role requires a proactive individual capable of monitoring cloud environments, supporting billing and access controls, executing standard optimization procedures, and adhering to organizational security policies. As part of a dynamic team, the Associate Cloud Engineer will learn from senior engineers, contribute to automation initiatives, and support governance and compliance activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with 3 to 5 years of experience seeking to deepen their expertise in cloud operations, FinOps, and security management within a forward-thinking organization. Qualifications Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud operations, support, or related roles is required. Strong understanding of AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including native services, security, and cost management tools, is essential. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, along with experience in cloud billing, security governance, and automation, is highly desirable. Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, as well as proficiency in scripting and version control systems such as Git, will be advantageous. Candidates should also have good communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively across teams, and a solid understanding of ITIL and ITSM practices. Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, or cloud security are a plus. Responsibilities Cloud Operations & Support Support the daily management of cloud environments on AWS and Azure by monitoring resource availability, performance, security alerts, and usage anomalies using established dashboards and tools. Log, track, and follow up on incidents, service requests, and operational challenges in collaboration with support teams and internal SMEs. Maintain visibility of cloud resource inventories and configuration changes, providing regular updates on ongoing activities and issues. Cloud Economics (FinOps) Support Assist in tracking cloud costs, usage, budgets, and alerts through native cost management tools. Identify straightforward cost inefficiencies such as idle resources, unused storage, or underutilized compute instances, and escalate recommendations for review. Support the implementation and validation of resource tagging and cost allocation standards. Prepare basic cost reports highlighting spend trends, variances, and opportunities for optimization. Execute predefined cost-saving actions under supervision and track results using KPIs like cost reduction and utilization improvements. Cloud Security Posture & Governance Support Support the monitoring of cloud security posture using approved CSPM tools. Review security alerts related to common misconfigurations and policy violations, executing low-risk remediation steps under guidance. Validate adherence to security baseline controls such as access policies, encryption, logging, and network configurations. Maintain documentation and evidence for security reviews and audits. Invoice & Billing Processing Assist in validating cloud invoices and billing statements by reviewing usage reports against expected consumption. Help identify and escalate billing discrepancies for investigation with finance or cloud providers. Maintain records of invoices, usage summaries, and billing documentation. Coordinate with finance and procurement teams to ensure timely billing reviews and reconciliations. Automation & Provisioning Support Support the maintenance and updating of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Execute standard resource provisioning tasks using approved scripts and templates, focusing on secure and cost-effective deployment patterns. Cloud Services & Vendor Onboarding Assist in onboarding approved cloud services, tools, and vendors according to governance procedures. Support access provisioning and de-provisioning activities, ensuring requests follow approval workflows and least privilege principles. Maintain onboarding, access, and approval documentation. System Setup & Configuration Support setup and configuration of cloud-native and third-party monitoring, billing, security, and cost management tools. Follow documented procedures and validate configurations post-deployment to ensure compliance with organizational standards. Troubleshooting & Issue Support Assist in initial investigations of cloud-related issues, including billing anomalies, access problems, security alerts, and performance concerns. Collect logs, metrics, and usage data to support root cause analysis, collaborating with Managed Service Providers and partners. Document findings clearly for review by senior management. Collaboration & Team Support Work closely with application, platform, security, finance, and operations teams to support cloud governance and operational activities. Participate
