Job description

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence. We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world. Job Summary: As the Associate Director, Collibra Solution Architect & Platform Lead, you will serve as the CBS Data Office architecture and platform lead for Collibra. You will define the platform strategy, architecture, standards, roadmap, and delivery approach; lead Collibra-related initiatives across CBS; and translate data governance and business needs into scalable solutions. You will partner with business, data, risk, security, and technology stakeholders to advance metadata management, business glossary, data lineage, data quality, stewardship, workflow, reference data, and compliance capabilities. Responsibilities: Own the Collibra platform strategy and solution architecture for the CBS Data Office, establishing a scalable roadmap, reusable patterns, and clear governance standards. Lead enterprise Collibra initiatives from concept through implementation, connecting business outcomes, data governance requirements, technical design, adoption, and operational sustainability. Serve as the senior Collibra advisor to CBS stakeholders, providing architecture direction, challenging constructively, resolving cross-functional issues, and communicating decisions, risks, and value to leadership. Key responsibilities include: Define and maintain the Collibra target architecture, platform roadmap, design principles, configuration standards, integration patterns, and release approach. Lead solution design for business glossary, metadata catalog, data ownership and stewardship, data lineage, data quality, workflow, policy, reference data, and traceability use cases. Lead onboarding of CBS functions, domains, data products, systems, and use cases into Collibra, including requirements, operating model alignment, metadata design, testing, deployment, and adoption. Translate business, governance, risk, compliance, security, and technology requirements into actionable solution designs and implementation plans. Provide architecture oversight for Collibra integrations with enterprise data platforms, metadata sources, master and reference data solutions, data quality capabilities, and downstream applications. Establish platform guardrails, decision rights, intake and prioritization practices, design review processes, and documentation standards. Assess Collibra capabilities and proposed changes, present options and recommendations, and evaluate architectural, operating, delivery, and support implications. Coordinate with platform engineering, security, risk, privacy, procurement, vendors, implementation partners, and domain teams to enable compliant and supportable solutions. Provide technical leadership and coaching to delivery resources, governance practitioners, data owners, and data stewards. Monitor delivery dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and adoption outcomes, escalating matters requiring leadership action. Support business cases, investment planning, implementation roadmaps, resource plans, and sourcing decisions for Collibra capabilities. Drive continuous improvement by simplifying processes, increasing reuse and automation, strengthening controls, and improving user experience and realized value. Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: Senior communication capability required across CBS functions and ET leadership. The role also requires relationship management skills to influence and motivate key stakeholders. Operate as the primary architecture authority for Collibra-related decisions within the CBS Data Office, balancing business value, risk, user experience, scalability, cost, and maintainability. Analyze complex and sometimes ambiguous requirements, identify dependencies and constraints, develop viable options, and provide clear recommendations to senior stakeholders. Determine when requirements should be addressed through Collibra configuration, integration, process change, another enterprise capability, or a phased approach. Assess solution and delivery risks, document assumptions and decisions, and establish appropriate mitigations and escalation paths. Use platform, delivery, adoption, and stakeholder feedback to guide roadmap priorities and continuous improvement. Supervision Responsibilities: The role will provide functional and technical leadership to cross-functional Collibra delivery teams, implementation partners, governance practitioners, data owners, and data stewards. Direct reports may vary based on the operating model and initiative. The role must be able to set direction, assign or coordinate work, review solution quality, coach team members, and influence business and technology resources across a global matrix organization. Knowledge and Skills Requirements: The role requires a good working knowledge of the IT infrastructure within EY but more importantly a great perspective on the business and the internal stakeholders we serve. The functional requirements of the technology we acquire, build or modify depend on the role’s ability to translate business need into technical requirements. A longer-term roadmap and vision for individual application as well as the broader platforms will be necessary for effective development and deployment of the projects. Deep knowledge of the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform and its application to enterprise data governance and metadata management. Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, business glossaries, data ownership and stewardship, data lineage, data quality, master data management, reference data management, and policy or compliance enablement. Ability to design logical operating models, asset models, relationships, workflows, roles, responsibilities, and controls that translate governance intent into sustainable execution. Understanding of enterprise architecture, solution architecture, APIs, integration patterns, security, access controls, testing, release management, and service operations. Ability to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements, architecture decisions, implementation roadmaps, and measurable outcomes. Executive-level communication, facilitation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills, including the ability to make complex topics understandable to business and technical audiences. Proven ability to lead through influence across a global, matrixed organization and coordinate multidisciplinary teams without relying on direct reporting relationships. Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, decision-making, documentation, and delivery-management capabilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and adjust to changing business, risk, and technology needs. Working knowledge of CBS functions and related business processes or systems is preferred. Other Requirements: Current Collibra certification is required. Advanced architecture, platform, workflow, integration, or governance credentials are strongly preferred. Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and with globally distributed teams. Travel may be required based on business and program needs. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Job Requirements: To qualify, candidates must have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Current Collibra certification. 8+ years of experience in data management, data governance, information architecture, solution architecture, or a related discipline. 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, or leading enterprise Collibra solutions. Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional technology or data initiatives in a global enterprise environment. Experience developing platform roadmaps, architecture standards, solution designs, implementation plans, and governance operating models. Experience with metadata ingestion, lineage, workflows, integrations, APIs, access controls, testing, release management, and platform adoption. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, stakeholder-management, facilitation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and lead outcomes with limited direction. Ideally, candidates will also have: Experience integrating Collibra with cloud data platforms, data quality tools, master or reference data solutions, and enterprise applications. Experience supporting regulated, risk, privacy, audit, compliance, or traceability use cases. Knowledge of TOGAF or another enterprise architecture framework and Agile or scaled delivery methods. Additional credentials in data management, data governance, enterprise architecture, cloud, or program delivery.
