Advancing possibilities for a brighter tomorrow We are seeking a Commercial EHS Lead (EMEA & APAC) on a permanent basis to join our team. This role can be based out of Ireland-Galway; Ireland-Clonmel; Ireland-Cork; Malaysia-Penang Job Purpose: The Commercial Environmental, Health and Safety Lead for (APAC & EMEA) is responsible for leading the execution of the Commercial EHS strategy across these regions. This role translates global EHS direction into actionable regional and country-level priorities, strengthens regulatory compliance and governance, and partners with business leaders to integrate EHS into operational planning and decision-making. This leader connects global strategy with regional priorities and country-level execution, driving consistent implementation of EHS programs, management systems and performance standards. The role focuses on building organizational capability, coaching regional teams, strengthening cross-functional partnerships and using performance insights to identify risks, escalate significant issues and drive continuous improvement. Operating within a complex global matrix, this leader collaborates with Commercial leadership, Global EHS and key enterprise functions to advance a proactive safety culture, protect employees and the environment, and support sustainable business performance. Key Responsibilities: Strategic leadership and business partnership Lead execution of the Commercial EHS strategy across APAC and EMEA, aligning regional priorities with global EHS direction and business objectives. Partner with regional Commercial and functional leaders to integrate EHS into operational planning, strengthen safety culture and increase leadership engagement. Translate regional business needs and emerging EHS challenges into actionable plans, milestones and governance processes. Provide strategic guidance on regional EHS risks, improvement opportunities, resource requirements and organizational capability gaps, escalating enterprise-level matters to Global EHS leadership. Regional enablement and operating model Enable regional teams and country stakeholders to execute EHS programs through coaching, education, clear accountability, standardized tools and established operating models. Identify and elevate regional and country-level challenges, recommend priorities and contribute insights to the global Commercial EHS plan. Strengthen capabilities across the APAC and EMEA Commercial EHS network through targeted coaching, knowledge sharing and adoption of effective practices. Reinforce defined decision-making responsibilities, ownership and escalation pathways while addressing regional execution gaps. Governance, management systems and standards Implement and maintain Commercial EHS governance processes across APAC and EMEA, including management reviews, assurance activities, issue escalation and performance monitoring. Drive consistent regional implementation of applicable EHS management systems, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 principles, and relevant global standards. Lead deployment and continuous improvement of standardized Commercial EHS programs, including risk assessments, critical hazard reduction, incident management and sustainability initiatives. Evaluate program effectiveness through established assurance, review and corrective-action processes, escalating significant gaps and monitoring resolution. Regulatory compliance and assurance Oversee Commercial EHS regulatory compliance across APAC and EMEA, ensuring consistent implementation of compliance assurance processes across countries. Coordinate engagement with regulatory agencies, industry organizations and internal stakeholders in partnership with Legal, Compliance and Global EHS, as appropriate. Implement regional processes to identify, assess, communicate and respond to changes in applicable EHS regulations. Escalate significant compliance risks and oversee timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Risk management and program excellence Identify and assess material EHS risks across APAC and EMEA Commercial operations, applying global prioritization frameworks to coordinate effective mitigation strategies. Implement scalable risk management approaches for field-based and office operations, including occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, travel and driver safety, ergonomics and exposure control. Apply structured risk analysis and problem-solving methodologies to prioritize resources, address critical risks and advance improvement opportunities. Lead regional continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness, consistency and sustainability of Commercial EHS programs. Performance, insights and leadership communicatio n Translate global Commercial EHS objectives and key performance indicators into regional performance targets, operating plans and reporting processes. Communicate regional EHS performance, significant risks, improvement progress and decision-making needs to Commercial and Global EHS leadership. Analyze performance data, benchmarking results and program maturity assessments to identify trends, establish priorities and improve regional outcomes. Recognize strong performance, share lessons learned and reinforce accountability for corrective actions and operational commitments. Sustainability and environmental stewardship Integrate applicable sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) priorities into regional Commercial EHS plans and operational processes. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support environmental objectives, data quality, reporting requirements and sustainability improvement initiatives. Identify and advance practical opportunities to reduce environmental impact while supporting business priorities and customer expectations. Leadership and organizational effectiveness Demonstrate leadership grounded in trust, integrity, courage, inclusion and transparent communication. Influence decisions and drive results across a complex regional and global matrix, including stakeholders outside direct reporting relationships. Build alignment among regional and country leaders with varying business priorities, regulatory requirements and operational needs. Develop EHS capabilities through coaching, constructive feedback, delegation and professional development opportunities. Balance strategic regional planning with disciplined execution, timely issue resolution and hands-on operational support. Foster a business-focused EHS culture that protects employees, supports environmental stewardship and strengthens organizational performance. Education & Experience: Required qualifications: Level 8 Hons Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Engineering or related field. Minimum of 7+ years' progressive experience in environmental, health and safety, including responsibilities within complex, multisite or regional organizations Minimum of 3 years' experience in people or program leadership, including coaching others and delivering results through matrixed teams. Demonstrated experience implementing EHS strategies, governance frameworks, management systems, operational standards and compliance assurance programs. Proven ability to partner with business leaders and influence execution across multiple functions, countries and cultures. Strong knowledge of EHS risk management, incident prevention, regulatory compliance, performance measurement and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex EHS matters clearly to senior leadership audiences. Demonstrated ability to operate independently within established strategic and governance frameworks while exercising sound judgment and accountability. Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support regional Commercial operations. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering, business administration or a related discipline. Professional EHS certification or an equivalent recognized credential. Experience leading EHS programs supporting field-based, office, distribution, service or other Commercial operations. Experience implementing or maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. Experience in the medical device, health care, life sciences or another highly regulated industry. Experience leveraging digital platforms, performance analytics and benchmarking to improve EHS program effectiveness and business outcomes.
