The Opportunity: KBR is seeking a Commercial Specialist to join our Commercial Licensing and Agreements team. In this role, you will contribute to procurement, commercial, and contract management activities across Defence acquisition programs. Working closely with project teams, Commonwealth stakeholders, and industry partners, you will play a key role in tender activities, commercial governance, contract management, and risk management that support the delivery of critical Defence capability outcomes. This is a permanent full-time opportunity and can be based in Canberra or Melbourne. The successful candidate must hold an NV1 security clearance or higher. Responsibilities: Deliver procurement activities and procurement and tender documentation Contribute to the development of commercial strategies, including identifying recommended procurement methods Assist contract management activities for ASDEFCON acquisition and sustainment contracts Process contract changes, review contract deliverables, and monitor contractor performance Contribute to commercial negotiations involving prime contractors Develop procurement strategies, contract management plans, delegate approvals, tender evaluation plans, evaluation reports, and liability risk assessments Provide commercial and finance advice to delegates and stakeholders Ensure compliance with relevant departmental procurement policies Identify and manage commercial and finance risks Prepare internal briefs, approval submissions, and reports Coordinate project representation at key contract meetings Participate in procurement and contract workshops and forums as required As the ideal candidate you will bring: Essential Experience in Defence commercial and procurement activities Understanding of contracts, deeds, indemnities, obligations, and variation clauses Experience coordinating governance activities, including agendas, minutes, registers, documentation control, and quality assurance of meeting packs Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills Australian Citizenship Current Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Defence Security Clearance or higher Desirable Project management experience Knowledge of Defence Writing Standards Knowledge of internal Defence processes Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and meet demanding milestones All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
