To learn more about us, visit www.financeofamerica.com [http://www.financeofamerica.com/] Purpose of Role Responsible for supporting the Company’s licensing, regulatory change management, governance systems, compliance reporting, and operational compliance functions to ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing mortgage lending and servicing, including but not limited to the SAFE Act, RESPA, Truth in Lending, and HMDA. Provides governance leadership across licensing, regulatory implementation, compliance reporting, and GRC system administration to support a strong and effective Compliance Management System (CMS). Key Responsibilities and Expectations * Maintains the Company’s licensing program to ensure all corporate, branch, and individual licenses remain current and compliant across jurisdictions. * Oversees NMLS administration and maintain accurate and timely records. * Serves as contact for state regulatory agencies regarding licensing matters. * Supports and coordinates regulatory requests, examinations, and related responses in partnership with Compliance leadership. * Supports preparation, validation, and submission of required regulatory reports to state and federal regulators. * Supports compliance reporting processes, including coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate submissions. * Supports Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data governance, including data integrity reviews, error resolution, and annual LAR submission. * Coordinates responses to regulator inquiries related to submitted reports. * Maintains documentation evidencing reporting controls, methodologies, and data validation procedures. * Partners with Operations, Servicing, Finance, and IT to ensure data accuracy and completeness for regulatory reporting purposes. * Identifies reporting trends, gaps, or risks and escalate as appropriate. * Monitors federal and state regulatory developments impacting mortgage origination and servicing. * Supports the Company’s Change of Law process. * Monitors federal and state regulatory developments impacting mortgage origination and servicing. * Conducts regulatory impact assessments for new or revised laws and regulations. * Coordinates cross-functional implementation efforts to ensure timely and documented adoption of regulatory changes. * Tracks implementation milestones and maintain documentation evidencing compliance. * Serves as Compliance System Owner for the Company’s governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) platform (Archer), with responsibility for system integrity, governance alignment, and regulatory support. * Establishes and maintains system governance standards, including record ownership protocols, data quality controls, workflow configuration, and reporting structures. * Approves and oversees configuration changes, including workflow development, field updates, reporting enhancements, and role-based access controls. * Ensures Archer workflows support licensing, regulatory change management, issue management, examination tracking, and compliance reporting governance. * Maintains documentation evidencing system controls, configuration changes, and governance standards. * Coordinates with IT, Risk, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders to ensure system functionality aligns with regulatory expectations. * Oversees periodic user access reviews and enforce appropriate access governance. * Develops standardized management and Board reporting derived from system data. * Serves as primary liaison for audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal reviews related to governance records and system controls. * Identifies and implements system enhancements to strengthen transparency, accountability, and audit readiness. * Performs other duties as assigned. Reports To * Director, Enterprise Governance Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies * Minimum 3 years of Licensing experience, preferably mortgage license related.  * Minimum 1 year of related experience in compliance risk management, preferably in a financial services company.  * Lending origination or origination compliance or audit experience is preferred. * Knowledge of the mortgage lending process and related legal and regulatory requirements. * Experience developing and implementing staff training programs and related materials would be an asset. * Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.  * Research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS) (e.g. Encompass, Reverse Vision, etc.) is preferred. * Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Qualifications - Education - Required * Bachelor's Degree Compensation The base salary range for this position is ($87,200 - $100,000) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer.
