Job description
Are you passionate about using AI and computer vision for real-world impact?
Do you thrive in a flexible, fast-paced startup environment where your work goes from R&D to production and directly shapes the product?
Who we are
Blue Cromos AB is a Swedish software company pioneering brand protection through patented and innovative SaaS solutions that integrate cutting-edge AI and classic computer vision. Our platform empowers industries like manufacturing, logistics, pharma, luxury goods, and automotive, delivering seamless quality assurance from the factory floor to the end user. We are a diverse, close-knit team of about 20, including management, engineers, architects, and testers, united by creativity, technical excellence, and a commitment to solving real client problems.
What you’ll do
Develop CV & AI pipelines: Design and implement advanced image processing pipelines and research state-of-the-art algorithms (object detection, segmentation, tracking) using Python-based workflows.
Vision system integration: Collaborate with hardware and R&D to understand the full machine vision stack, including how lenses, lighting, and sensors influence image quality and model performance.
R&D to production: Take models from the experimental phase through to production-ready deployment, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and maintainable over time.
Innovate & patent: Experiment with new CV solutions and contribute to our growing portfolio of patented technologies and product features.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with system architects, software developers, and QA engineers to ensure seamless integration of CV models into our broader product ecosystem.
You’re a great fit if you have
Experience: 3-4+ years in computer vision within an industrial or advanced research setting.
Python mastery: Strong, hands-on skills in Python and core libraries for image processing and AI (OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-image, Pillow).
CV foundations: Solid grasp of both classical and AI-based computer vision (feature extraction, detection, segmentation, tracking).
Machine vision knowledge: Understanding of how hardware components: sensors, lenses, and lighting - affect input quality, robustness, and accuracy of the vision system.
Mathematical foundation: Good understanding of linear algebra, calculus, statistics, and probability, sufficient to reason about models and algorithms.
Software engineering: Familiarity with modern software practices, including OOP, design patterns, version control (Git), and collaborative development workflows.
Nice to have
C++ & optimization: Basic experience or a genuine interest in C++ and performance optimization for real-time or resource-constrained environments.
Industrial domains: Experience applying computer vision in industrial settings or with specialized camera systems and optics.
Deployment & UI: Familiarity with cloud deployment, containerization (e.g. Docker), CI/CD pipelines, or UI frameworks such as Qt.
Optical engineering: Knowledge of optical physics, camera calibration, and imaging system design.
What we’re looking for (mindset)
Problem-solver: Analytical, curious, and open-minded, with a structured approach to experimentation and debugging.
Self-driven: You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly, and proactively involve others when needed.
Adaptable: Comfortable switching between deep research and hands-on, fast-paced implementation, and adjusting priorities as the product evolves.
Ambitious: Motivated by technical challenges and eager to push the boundaries of what is possible in vision systems and AI.
Additional details
Employment: Permanent, full-time position.
Location: Onsite in Malmö with some hybrid flexibility.
Start date: As soon as possible.
Eligibility: Candidates must already be based in Sweden and have a valid work permit.
