Conveyance Coordinator **3rd Shift

Assist with verifying that inbound materials and products are inspected, counted accurately, systematically received, and supported by the required documentation. Support the Conveyance Supervisor with daily staffing assignments, work priorities, shift coverage, and follow-up on completed work. Provide floor-level direction and guidance to forklift, yard goat, and other conveyance employees in accordance with established procedures. Assist with training employees in safe work practices, standard operating procedures, documentation requirements, and proper equipment operation. Monitor work areas and employee practices for compliance with GMP, food safety, housekeeping, and departmental standards. Immediately address or escalate unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, quality issues, and employee performance concerns to the Conveyance Supervisor. Help maintain accurate records for inbound and outbound shipments, including lot information, Bills of Lading, invoices, receiving records, and related documentation. Assist with organizing received goods inventory and verifying that materials are stored in the correct locations. Coordinate with inventory, purchasing, shipping, and production personnel to support material availability, storage needs, and inventory rotation. Monitor incoming receiving activities for accuracy, completeness, and condition of received goods, and report discrepancies promptly. Inspect material-handling equipment for visible defects, complete required pre-use inspections, and notify the supervisor or maintenance of needed repairs. Direct the safe movement of shipments and materials from receiving areas to storage or production of work areas. Support internal departmental audits and corrective actions related to GMP, food safety, and regulatory compliance. Assist with tracking department performance measures, identifying operational delays, and recommending process improvements. Help maintain a productive work environment by answering employee questions, providing constructive feedback, and reinforcing performance expectations. Assist with monitoring driver compliance with safety rules and report repeated or serious noncompliance to the Conveyance Supervisor. Support the coordination of POM-owned and rental mobile equipment, including availability, service needs, and maintenance follow-up. Act as the department lead in the Conveyance Supervisor’s absence when assigned by management. Provide coverage and operational support to other supply chain departments as directed. Perform other duties as assigned. SEASONAL POMEGRANATE HARVEST – YARD COORDINATION RESPONSIBILITIES During the pomegranate season, the Conveyance Coordinator will provide additional support for the coordination and control of fresh-fruit trailer traffic and yard operations. These responsibilities include: Trailer Coordination & Yard Management Manage and monitor the arrival, movement, placement, staging, and departure of inbound and outbound trailers carrying fresh pomegranates and other fresh fruit. Assign and direct yard goat operators, drivers, and other authorized personnel in the safe movement of trailers within the yard. Ensure trailers are positioned in the correct yard locations, receiving areas, docks, staging areas, or designated holding areas according to the daily plan and operational schedule. Maintain an accurate, real-time trailer inventory and yard map, identifying trailer location, status, load information, and movement requirements. Prioritize trailer movement based on receiving schedules, unloading requirements, production needs, product condition, dock availability, and overall plant priorities. Coordinate with receiving, production, inventory, quality, shipping, and other departments to ensure trailers are available when needed and moved efficiently. Monitor trailer dwell times and identify delays, congestion, or operational issues that could affect receiving, production, or shipping activities. Verify trailer identification, load information, and required documentation before directing trailers to designated locations. Assist with maintaining orderly traffic flow and safe separation of pedestrians, forklifts, yard goats, trucks, and trailers. Communicate trailer status and yard changes to the appropriate departments and supervisors throughout the shift. Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions in English Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehousing, inventory, or material-handling operations Ability to provide work direction and support employees in a respectful and consistent manner Knowledge of forklift, yard goat, and material-handling safety practices Basic knowledge of GMP, food safety, and workplace safety requirements Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required documentation Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Working knowledge of Oracle or the ability to learn applicable systems Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Customer-service oriented and able to work effectively with internal departments and external partners Self-motivated and able to prioritize work in a fast-paced, changing environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required by management EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. One to three years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, inventory, logistics, or material handling is preferred. Previous lead or assistant supervisory experience is preferred. JOB SUMMARY: The Conveyance Coordinator supports the Conveyance Supervisor in coordinating daily plant-wide conveyance, receiving, material movement, and equipment-operator activities. This position helps ensure quality, safety, service, inventory accuracy, and documentation standards are consistently met. The Conveyance Coordinator provides floor-level direction, assists with employee training and work assignments, monitors compliance with GMP, BRC, FSMA, and departmental procedures, and serves as the acting department lead when assigned. The position also provides operational support for production, inventory, shipping, and other supply chain departments as needed. During the pomegranate season, this position will additionally support yard coordination activities involving the movement, placement, inspection, and tracking of fresh-fruit trailers.
