Data QA Analyst

Practifi

Remote · us Full-time 3h ago

Job description

The Opportunity (What This Role Really Means) When a wealth management firm moves onto Practifi, the first thing they judge us on is their data. If a household is missing a member, if a client shows up twice, or if a servicing team points to the wrong advisor, they notice on day one. So do their clients. Right now, quality assurance on those data migrations is handled by whoever is delivering the engagement, on top of everything else on their plate. It works, but it means every client gets a slightly different process and nobody has a clear view of the issues that keep coming back. We're creating this role to change that. As our Data QA Analyst, you'll be the dedicated owner of data migration quality across every client onboarding engagement. You'll work the checklist object by object, build one standard the whole team uses, and spot the patterns a single-project view misses. You'll be a big part of why a client's first login feels like their business, not a spreadsheet import. Your Day-to-Day (The Honest Version) The Core Work • Validate every migration end to end. You'll analyze source data (record counts, missing values, duplicates, orphaned contacts, inconsistent values), then walk through the Practifi interface object by object to confirm everything displays and connects the way the client's Data Mapping Document says it should. • Check the details that matter. Every record carries a valid External Id and Batch Id, nothing is owned by a default system user, every contact is tied to at least one relationship, and counts reconcile to source or have a clear explanation. • Log, route, and retest. You'll capture screenshots of failed checks, log findings in Asana and JIRA, route fixes to engineering, and retest once they're corrected. • Report clearly. After each Initial Load and Final Load, you'll give the Project Manager, Consultant, or Business Analyst the metrics they need, and you'll prepare the final QA sign-off report before go-live. • Raise the flag early. When a data issue puts a go-live at risk, you'll escalate it to the Project Manager within 24 hours • Build the standard. You'll own one QA checklist and issue-tracking format for every engagement, replacing the client-by-client workbooks in use today, and you'll track recurring issues across clients so we fix the process, not just the record. The Reality Check The Practifi data model has its own vocabulary, and it takes time to learn how it all fits together. You won't figure it out alone. You'll complete the same onboarding and training curriculum as every individual contributor here, including our PractifiU learning platform, and you'll have a Practibuddy mentor from day one. You'll also be working alongside Consultants, Business and Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Project Managers. Part of the job is raising problems in a way that keeps projects moving. And when QA volume is lighter, you'll flex into delivery support, so you'll see the whole implementation, not just your portion of it. The Growth This is a new role, which means you'll shape it. The checklist, the reporting format, and the process improvements you contribute each quarter become part of how Data Services operates. You'll earn a Salesforce certification once you're here, with time and support built in, and an annual Learnbucks stipend for the courses and certifications you choose after that. We promote from within. A role that sees every engagement is a strong foundation for a path into consulting, data engineering, or delivery leadership. What We're Really Looking For The Must-Haves • 3 to 5 years of experience in data quality, data migration, data validation, or quality assurance, ideally in a CRM or software environment • Hands-on experience reconciling data: comparing record counts, running field-by-field checks, and finding duplicate and orphaned records • Comfort working inside Salesforce or a comparable CRM, navigating objects, records, and related lists • A working understanding of how relational data fits together (IDs, lookups, and records that link other records) • Experience logging and tracking issues in JIRA, Asana, or a similar tool • Clear written communication, including findings a non-technical stakeholder can act on The Nice-to-Haves • Experience with Salesforce Inspector, the Salesforce Developer Console, Data Loader, or SOQL queries • Background in wealth management, financial services, or another regulated industry • Experience supporting client onboarding or software implementation projects • Strong spreadsheet skills (lookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting) A Salesforce certification isn't required to apply. You'll earn one with us. The More Important Stuff • You’re observant and tuned into the details within the data. • You care about the cause of an issue, not just the fix. • You're comfortable telling a Project Manager something they don't want to hear, and you do it early and kindly. • You like building structure where there isn't any yet. • You're honest about what you don't know and curious enough to go find out. What Taking This Leap Gets You The Practical Stuff • Base salary: $78,000 to $95,000. We share the range because you deserve to know it before you apply. Where you land depends on your experience against the role. • Generous time off: 20 days of paid vacation, 10 sick days, 3 personal days, and 3 volunteering days annually • Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance benefits, plus a 401(k) with company match • Fully remote within the US The Cultural Stuff • A Practibuddy mentor from your first day, so you always have someone to ask • An annual Learnbucks education stipend for the courses and certifications you choose • Bi-annual in-person summits in Chicago where the whole company gets together • A Slack culture where questions are welcome and wins get celebrated • Remote-first that's real: genuine work-life integration, not a line in a job ad Living Our Values Daily • Growth: You'll be part of building a function from the ground up, with Learnbucks and a real promotion path behind you. • Collaboration: You'll partner with every delivery role on every engagement, and the fix is always a team effort. • Transparency: The salary is in this ad, and your QA findings will be shared openly, good news and bad. • Curiosity: When you see patterns in the data, you'll be the one asking why. • Integrity: You'll sign off when the data is right, not when the calendar says it should be. Ready to Join Our Community? This role sits in our Data Services team within the Enablement organization and reports to our Project Management Office (PMO) Team Lead. You'll work closely with Consultants, Business and Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Project Managers across every engagement. The role is fully remote within the US and does not provide Visa sponsorship (must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship). One Last Thing: We're not just hiring a Data QA Analyst. We're adding someone to our community who'll make sure every client's first impression of Practifi is one we're proud of. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Practifi is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We value transparency in our hiring process. Please note that portions of our recruitment process may involve the use of AI-assisted tools to help review applications and match candidates to job requirements. All final hiring decisions are made by our human recruitment team, ensuring fair and thoughtful consideration for every applicant. About Practifi (The Real Story) Practifi is the only intelligent CRM company that meets wealth management firms wherever they are in their AI adoption journey. Our enterprise-grade, compliance-first foundation brings client data, workflows, and relationship intelligence together in one system, so firms can understand what matters, take the right action, and scale without ever needing a new CRM. That same directness runs through how we work. We're a team of fewer than 100 people, remote-first across the US and Australia, and we'd rather tell you how this job actually works than polish it for the pitch. We don't sell a version of the role that doesn't exist.
