Defense Business Operations Manager- Lanham, MD

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Defense Business Operations Manager to join a Government Consulting company located in Lanham, MD through hybrid work. The Defense Business Operations Manager will conduct day-to-day business operations support for a Defense organization, including financial tracking, cost management, ERP reporting, and operational coordination to enable Defense leadership with accurate, timely insights. Responsibilities: Provide daily business operations support to the Defense organization, including responding to leadership taskers, tracking open action items, and following up to ensure execution Coordinate purchase orders, funding requests, and operational approvals to support timely program execution Own cost tracking, labor reporting, timecard compliance, and financial data across Defense programs Develop and maintain automated reports and dashboards to provide leadership visibility into costs, financials, and program status Serve as a key operational user for Deltek Costpoint, supporting program setup, reporting, troubleshooting, and data integrity Qualifications: 3–7 years of experience in business operations, accounting, finance, or program support within a defense, aerospace, or technology environment Strong knowledge of Deltek Costpoint (hands-on experience required), ERP systems, cost tracking, labor charging, financial reporting, and variance analysis Familiarity with DoD accounting environments, FAR/DFARS, DCAA, DCMA, supply chain, or procurement processes (preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Management, or a related field Compensation: Salary Range: Up to $120,000 depending on experience + RSUs Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, unlimited PTO, Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays relocation support provided Clearance Level: Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain an Active U.S. government security clearance Location: Hybrid – Lanham, MD (3–4 days onsite per week required)., **Location moving to VA EOY Keywords List: Defense Business Operations Analyst, business operations, defense programs, Deltek Costpoint, ERP systems, accounting, finance, cost tracking, labor reporting, timecard compliance, financial analysis, variance analysis, purchase orders, funding requests, program support, DoD accounting, FAR, DFARS, DCAA, DCMA, supply chain coordination, procurement support, reporting dashboards, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Salesforce, aerospace, technology programs, hybrid work, Lanham Maryland
