About the Role
WorkWave is seeking a DevOps Engineer with experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure), software development, automation, and application infrastructure to join our DevOps team
The DevOps team is responsible for delivering and continuously improving cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, CI/CD pipelines, application infrastructure, test automation, monitoring, and operational processes that support WorkWave’s web, mobile, and API applications.
In this role, you will work closely with Software Engineering, Product Delivery, QA, and Operations teams to design, build, and maintain stable, scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure across development, QA, and production environments. You will help establish and maintain DevOps standards, automate infrastructure and deployment processes, improve system reliability, and support the full software development lifecycle.
What You'll Do:
Design, build, maintain, and continuously improve infrastructure across development, QA, and production environments.
Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and efficient application delivery.
Automate application deployment, configuration, provisioning, scaling, and operational processes.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation, Chef, or similar technologies.
Build and manage cloud infrastructure which include containerized workloads and application environments primarily within AWS (with secondary support for Azure), with a focus on availability, reliability, scalability, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
Utilize AWS services and automation tools such as VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, Systems Manager, and Patch Manager.
Develop scripts and automation to extend AWS capabilities and improve operational efficiency.
Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability and develop effective alerting and troubleshooting solutions.
Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, security, backup, and recovery capabilities.
Work with tools such as Grafana , LogStash, Kibana, Elasticsearch or similar observability and monitoring technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, configuration, and production issues.
Develop and improve automated testing frameworks for Web, Mobile, and API applications.
Contribute to performance testing and reliability initiatives for web applications.
Collaborate closely with Software Engineering, QA, Product Delivery, and Operations teams to improve the software delivery lifecycle.
Coach and support engineers and QA teams in the use of automation tools, CI/CD processes, and DevOps practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve deployment speed, system reliability, security, and overall operational efficiency.
Apply consistent DevOps practices across the development lifecycle to ensure end-to-end quality.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2–4+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Development, Cloud Infrastructure, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Experience automating deployment, configuration, and infrastructure processes.
Experience with AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or similar technologies.
Experience with CI/CD & GitOps tools such as Git, TeamCity, Octopus, ArgoCD, or equivalent.
Experience with version control systems such as Git, Bitbucket, or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
Experience with network infrastructure, databases, cloud environments, data center operations, and security protocols.
Demonstrated proficiency in at least one high-level programming language.
Strong scripting and automation experience with languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ruby, TypeScript, Perl, PHP, Java, SQL, or C++.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues in production environments.
Experience creating and maintaining cloud-based development, testing, and production environments.
Understanding of monitoring, logging, system performance, reliability, security, and disaster recovery practices.
What Would Be Also Awesome:
Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies for web applications.
Experience supporting Web, Mobile, and API applications.
Experience working on Scrum or Kanban teams.
Experience with AWS Systems Manager, Patch Manager, and other AWS operational tools.
