Read more at www.dsv.com Location: Atlanta, GA Division: Road Job Posting Title: Coordinator, Driver Helper, Road Transport US Time Type: Full Time Summary Interested in getting paid to travel the country while building experience in specialized delivery and installation? DSV is hiring Driver Helpers to travel throughout the U.S. alongside our drivers, delivering and installing data racks, servers, and other high-value technology equipment at data centers and customer locations. This is a hands-on, physically active role providing white-glove delivery and installation . You’ll help safely load, unload, move, secure, position, and install sensitive equipment using pallet jacks and other approved equipment while following required safety, security, chain-of-custody, and customer procedures. Travel is an essential part of this position. Assignments are typically 1–2 weeks at a time and may extend up to 2–3 weeks . DSV provides transportation and lodging while traveling , and employees must be able to accept travel assignments with minimum notice. This position pays $26.00–$28.00 per hour and provides a 40-hour weekly guarantee when you remain available to work assigned schedules and required travel . Additional hours and overtime may be available based on business needs. Safely load, unload, move, stage, secure, position, and install data racks, server systems, and other high-value equipment using proper handling techniques. Secure cargo using approved equipment and procedures to prevent movement or damage during transit. Safely use pallet jacks, dollies, lift gates, ramps, lift-assist devices, and other approved material-handling equipment. Assist with the precise placement and positioning of data racks, server systems, and other sensitive equipment in accordance with installation procedures and customer or authorized onsite direction. Follow established procedures for handling delicate, oversized, sensitive, and high-value equipment. Follow established SOPs, chain-of-custody requirements, and customer and site-specific safety, security, and access procedures. Complete and verify Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation and confirm shipment accuracy. Perform installation activities in confined spaces and varied physical positions, including prone positioning when required. Wear required PPE, maintain professional work attire, and provide professional white-glove service throughout delivery and installation activities. Communicate effectively with drivers, team members, customers, and onsite personnel and promptly escalate safety hazards, delays, equipment concerns, shipment discrepancies, or other operational issues. Maintain regular and reliable availability for frequent nationwide travel, including overnight and extended assignments, and accept travel assignments with minimum notice. Work flexible schedules, including extended hours, weekends, and overtime, based on operational requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned by leader to support operations. Qualifications & Experience One (1) to two (2) years of experience in delivery, warehouse operations, moving and installation services, or a similar physically demanding environment preferred. Experience supporting white-glove delivery, data center logistics, or handling high-value or sensitive equipment strongly preferred. Ability to safely handle, move, position, and protect large, heavy, and fragile equipment. Experience using pallet jacks, dollies, lift gates, ramps, lift-assist devices, or similar material-handling equipment. Ability to follow SOPs, installation instructions, manifests, chain-of-custody procedures, and site-specific requirements. Familiarity with Proof of Delivery (POD) systems, handheld devices, or digital freight-tracking tools preferred. Experience assisting with IT equipment, server rack installation, or technical equipment setup preferred; training provided. Ability and willingness to meet the travel and scheduling requirements of the position. Skills & Competencies Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and proper equipment-handling practices. Professional, customer-focused approach with an understanding of white-glove service expectations. Strong attention to detail and situational awareness when handling, securing, positioning, and installing sensitive equipment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a driver and installation team. Effective communication, problem-solving, organizational, and adaptability skills. Ability to follow detailed procedures and use handheld devices, POD systems, material-handling equipment, manual tools, and other required technology. Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English as required to safely perform the essential functions of the position. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to sit while riding in a commercial motor vehicle and is regularly required to stand and walk while performing delivery and installation activities. The position requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and working in confined spaces and varied physical positions. The employee must be physically able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to: Lift and carry 50 pounds or more repeatedly throughout the shift. Push, pull, maneuver, and position freight weighing up to 5,000 pounds using pallet jacks or other approved material-handling equipment. Safely maneuver equipment in accordance with established safety requirements and handling procedures. Stand and walk for extended periods, including the majority of the workday. Frequently reach at, above, and below waist level to handle, position, secure, and install equipment. Frequently squat, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, push, and pull while performing delivery and installation activities. Perform installation activities in confined spaces and varied physical positions, including prone positioning when required. Safely climb into and out of trucks and trailers multiple times per shift using available steps and handholds. Maintain balance while working on surfaces that may include concrete, metal, construction flooring, loading docks, ramps, or uneven or slippery surfaces. Safely operate pallet jacks, dollies, lift gates, ramps, lift-assist devices, securing equipment, manual tools, and other approved equipment required to perform the role. Work Environment While performing the duties of this position, the employee works in a variety of environments, including warehouses, loading docks, trucks and trailers, data centers, active construction sites, commercial buildings, customer facilities, and other controlled or secured locations. Work environments may include confined spaces, active construction activity, sensitive equipment, restricted-access areas, and site-specific safety and security requirements. The employee may be exposed to varying indoor and outdoor temperatures, weather conditions, dust, airborne particles, noise, vibration, moving vehicles and equipment, and uneven or slippery surfaces. Noise levels may range from moderate during transportation and warehouse activities to loud at construction, delivery, and installation locations. Frequent nationwide travel is an essential requirement of the position and includes overnight stays and extended periods away from home. Travel assignments are typically one (1) to two (2) weeks at a time but may extend up to two (2) to three (3) weeks based on customer and operational needs.
