Montserrat A little more about your role Providing a consulting engineering service for the design, implementation and close-out of Building Controls & Telecommunications infrastructure as well as ICT & ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems. The systems typically comprise of the following: Fire Detection, Gas Suppression & Emergency Evacuation Systems, CCTV Monitoring & Recording Systems Access Control Systems Structured Cabling design with broad based knowledge of network and IT related equipment Building Management Systems (BMS) Fibre Optic Network design including Ethernet and GPON solution architecture Fibre Optic Testing GPS, RF & GSM/DAS Antenna & Infrastructure Wi-fi Access Point & Office LAN Networks High Performance Computing & Storage Server hardware is advantageous Audio Visual Systems Project Management and Coordination with other Building Services Knowledge and experience with Autodesk BIM (Revit, Navisworks, Glue, Field, etc.) and CAD software (Advantageous) This role comprises of a wholistic ELV & ICT consulting spectrum from inception, detail design, documentation and procurement, construction, site monitoring and project closeout. This role will comprise of predominantly Controls & Telecoms, but ICT Services and ELV Engineering Services experience will be advantageous. About You We're looking for someone who is equally passionate about technical excellence and digital innovation. You'll bring: A minimum BTech degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. SAQCC registration is advantageous A minimum of 5 years post-graduation electronic services engineering experience required Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office An experience related to ELV & ICT Designs in Building Services. A good understanding and working knowledge of Revit and ACC. Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng eligible for registration will be advantageous Key Competencies and Generic Skills: Ability to work well under pressure and be able to meet deadlines Ability to effectively convey information (written and oral) Problem sensitivity Critical Thinking - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Sound Judgment, Decision Making and Deductive as well as Inductive Reasoning Skills Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems Quality Control Analysis Active Learning - understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving Code B drivers licence (preferably own car) Computer literacy (programming skills will be advantageous) Experience in various Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 suite) Must be self-motivated Excellent communicator and good discussion and problem resolution skills A self-starter who can run with and manage his own projects with the guidance of a senior engineer Must be responsible and have a high level of self-sufficiency and be able to apply common sense Must have a questioning and inquisitive mind
