Engineering Director

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Engineering Director to lead our engineering organization at our facility at SO/ Sofitel Hua Hin. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee all engineering operations, drive technical excellence, and build high-performing teams that deliver innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership capabilities, demonstrating the ability to make decisive decisions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, accountability, and professional growth Define and execute engineering strategy aligned with organizational objectives, ensuring technical excellence and operational efficiency Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring projects meet quality standards, timelines, and budget requirements Analyze complex technical challenges and make strategic decisions that balance technical requirements with business objectives Manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, and capital expenditures to optimize operational efficiency Establish and implement engineering processes, standards, and best practices to enhance productivity and quality Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and develop career paths for direct reports Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, and business units to align engineering initiatives with organizational goals Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimization within engineering operations Represent the engineering function in senior leadership meetings and strategic planning sessions Manage vendor relationships and external partnerships to support engineering objectives Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain competitive advantage Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role Proven track record of successfully leading and developing engineering teams of varying sizes Strong technical expertise and deep understanding of engineering principles, practices, and methodologies relevant to the organization Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive organizational success Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions Experience with budget management, P&L responsibility, and resource planning Strong project management skills with experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget Proficiency in performance management, talent development, and organizational design Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels Ability to work effectively in multicultural and international environments Familiarity with Agile or other modern engineering methodologies Experience with vendor and stakeholder management Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives Nestled on the Gulf of Thailand’s captivating coastline, SO Sofitel Hua Hin stands as Hua Hin’s most distinctive 5-star hotel in Cha-Am, north to Hua Hin, just a short 2.5-hour drive from Bangkok, this luxury beachfront resort offers chic design with 100 rooms and 8 villas, including private pool villas.
