Engineering Specialist III, Process Support

About our group: Johor Bahru Substrate (JBS) Plate Operation is a high-technology chemical-mechanical operation responsible for depositing nickel-phosphorus onto the aluminum substrate memory disks used in Seagate hard drives. Our team of more than 120 operators, technicians and engineers produces approximately 100,000 high-quality disks each day. About the role - you will: Perform routine tasks and monitor line progress according to the shift rotation schedule. Prepare plating chemicals for production use and handle raw plating chemicals in reservoirs located at the plating line. Conduct sample analysis for nickel, pre-plate and strip tanks, and update analysis data in the SPC system. Prepare laboratory reagents and perform process tool calibration. Monitor nickel bath parameters to ensure they remain within specification, including the dash controller and anodic system. Work with the equipment and process teams to improve tool stability and drive continuous improvement. Improve process OEE and Lean Manufacturing performance, reduce safety hazards, and support cost-saving projects. Ensure process flows, specifications, procedures and documentation are established and maintained in accordance with compliance requirements. Implement effective process controls to ensure product and process compliance and conformance. Execute process troubleshooting and follow up on quality issues. About you: A Diploma holder in an engineering discipline; Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is an advantage. Self-motivated with a positive working attitude. A collaborative team player who demonstrates initiative and strong problem-solving skills. Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment. Willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift pattern covering both day and night shifts. Self-motivated with a positive working attitude. Your experience includes: Hands-on exposure to plating processes and cleanroom operations is an advantage; candidates with one to two years of relevant experience are preferred, while fresh Diploma graduates are also welcome. Process and quality troubleshooting. Assisting engineers with process quality improvement activities. Familiarity with SPC systems, laboratory sample analysis or chemical preparation. Exposure to OEE improvement, Lean Manufacturing, process control, tool calibration, or cost-saving initiatives. Location: Seagate International (Johor) Sdn.
