The Role As a Calibration Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the operation of QinetiQ's Diving and Hyperbaric Test Centre and hydrodynamic test facilities at Haslar. Working within a unique test environment, you will help maintain world-class facilities that support critical customer programmes, research activities and defence capabilities. Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for the calibration of pressure gauges, sensors and test instrumentation, supporting facility maintenance activities and contributing to the safe and effective delivery of hyperbaric and hydrodynamic test programmes. You'll work closely with facility managers, operators and instrumentation specialists to ensure equipment, facilities and testing activities are conducted safely and to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include: Managing the calibration of digital and analogue pressure gauges, sensors and test instrumentation in accordance with required standards and specifications Maintaining and managing the calibration laboratory, including equipment upkeep, documentation and calibration records Undertaking routine and reactive electrical maintenance across hyperbaric and hydrodynamic test facilities Supporting the safe operation and delivery of test programmes across the Haslar facilities Conducting facility inspections, safety checks and ensuring equipment compliance with relevant legislation and standards Supporting facility improvement, maintenance and development activities to sustain a world-class test capability Essential experience of the Calibration Technician: Experience working with electrical or electronic systems Experience calibrating gauges, sensors or similar instrumentation Experience supporting facility operations, maintenance or technical test environments Good understanding of safe working practices and the operation of technical equipment Essential qualifications for the Calibration Technician: Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC or equivalent qualification in an electrical or electronic discipline We value difference and we don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.
