Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE This is a customer-facing engineering role on a small, fast-moving healthtech team building software that streamlines staffing operations — scheduling, payroll, credentialing, and clinical documentation — for urgent care and emergency medicine groups. You'll bridge the gap between customer needs and shipped code, working directly with clinical and operational teams to design and deliver solutions that have immediate, measurable impact. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build front-end and back-end features using TypeScript, React, Node, Deno, and SQL. - Engage directly with customers to gather requirements and iterate rapidly on solutions. - Deploy and operate services on AWS and troubleshoot production issues as they arise. - Travel frequently to customer sites for on-site engagements and deployments. - Contribute to product design and rapid prototyping, moving ideas from concept to shipped code quickly. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Hands-on experience with React for frontend development. - Backend development experience with Node.js and/or Deno. - Comfortable writing and working with SQL databases. - Experience deploying or operating services on AWS. - Strong customer-facing communication skills — able to collaborate directly with clinical or operational teams. - Ability to ship reliable software quickly and independently in an early-stage environment. - High emotional maturity and a collaborative, low-ego attitude. - Open to frequent travel as a core part of the role. - Early-career candidates and new graduates are encouraged to apply. - Must be authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not available. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary up to $80,000, with a total compensation target of $120,000–$150,000 inclusive of equity and covered travel expenses (food, housing, and transportation during customer engagements).
