CORE PURPOSE We require an inspiring, academically rigorous Geography Teacher to deliver outstanding human and physical geographical instruction across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS Rigorous & Scholarship-Led Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver high-impact Geography lessons across all key stages, systematically embedding advanced academic journals, complex physical geomorphology models, and dual-coding to stretch highly able learners. Advanced Geopolitical & Analytical Scaffolding: Train pupils to an exceptional technical standard in evaluating complex global socio-economic theories, interpreting GIS data, and constructing sophisticated, multi-perspective essay arguments for advanced examinations. Public Examination Excellence: Guide selective cohorts meticulously through the high-stakes demands of linear GCSE and A-Level papers, utilizing precise diagnostic tracking to maximize the retention of top-grade boundaries ( A∗ /A and Grades 8–9). Supervised Fieldwork & Independent Research: Lead and coordinate high-quality local and international field studies, systematically mentoring Key Stage 5 students through the rigorous data collection and statistical analysis required for their Independent Investigation (NEA). High-Level Pastoral Mentorship: Fulfil full form tutor responsibilities within an established house system, providing exceptional pastoral care, academic mentoring, and university application guidance (including Oxbridge tracking) to an ambitious tutor group. PROFILE REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong first-class or upper-second honours degree in Geography, Earth Sciences, Environmental Policy, or a closely related academic discipline. Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver outstanding progress metrics and top-tier examination results within a selective grammar or high-prior-attaining school environment.
