Job description
At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters. The Position Healthcare is evolving, and Global Procurement is responding by continuously striving for the highest possible performance, taking innovative and strategic approaches to business and supplier partnerships. Global Procurement proactively manages the entire supplier ecosystem, making a vital contribution to improving health outcomes, reducing costs for patients and global healthcare systems, and ensuring that Roche continues doing now what patients need next. As the Global Digital & Tech Strategic Procurement Programs Lead , you will guide a high-performing, agile team focused on accelerating procurement impact across Roche’s Digital & Technology supplier landscape. This role partners closely with Digital & Tech category leads and senior business stakeholders to shape and deliver strategic priorities. Your mandate is to lead a high-impact portfolio of strategic programmes, cost transformation initiatives (including targeted sourcing and negotiations) and targeted solutions that unlock measurable value from Roche’s technology supplier ecosystem. The focus is not procurement technology implementation. It is strategic procurement leadership in a complex Digital & Tech environment: bringing programme discipline, commercial insight, supplier market intelligence and solution thinking to the opportunities where additional focus can materially improve outcomes for our business and category teams you partner with. You will help Roche extract greater value from strategic supplier partnerships by identifying opportunities, challenging demand, strengthening commercial models, accelerating execution and scaling approaches that can create repeatable impact. The role requires strong fluency in technology supplier markets such as software, SaaS, cloud, AI, infrastructure and IT services, combined with the ability to lead through influence and turn ambiguous priorities into practical, value-creating programmes. The Opportunity: Lead a portfolio of high-impact Digital & Tech strategic programmes, cost transformation initiatives and targeted procurement solutions. Partner with Digital & Tech category leads and senior business stakeholders to understand priorities, shape demand and identify where additional procurement capability can materially improve outcomes. Drive cost transformation across complex technology spend areas, including major renegotiations, sourcing strategies, demand challenge, supplier model redesign and value capture. Extract greater value from strategic supplier partnerships through market insight, commercial challenge, stronger governance and innovative commercial models. Bring programme excellence, structure and pace from the start of complex initiatives, establishing clear outcomes, governance, roles, milestones and delivery cadence to increase the likelihood of successful execution and measurable impact. Build clear prioritisation logic for incoming demand, balancing impact, feasibility, strategic fit and available capacity. Coach and empower a high-performing team, creating an inclusive, high-trust environment where people can learn, challenge, experiment and grow Who You Are: You bring strong experience in Digital & Tech procurement, IT category management, strategic sourcing, programme delivery or technology-focused consulting. You understand technology supplier markets, commercial models, cost drivers and negotiation levers across areas such as software, SaaS, cloud, AI, infrastructure and IT services. You have experience leading complex strategic programmes, cost transformation initiatives or high-value commercial interventions. You know how to create value from strategic supplier partnerships, not only through sourcing events. You can partner effectively with category leads and senior stakeholders, building trust while constructively challenging demand and assumptions. You are confident shaping ambiguous priorities into clear opportunities, choices, governance and execution plans. You use data, market insight and commercial storytelling to influence decisions and build alignment. You balance savings, risk, innovation, service quality, supplier performance and long-term enterprise value. Where pay transparency applies, details are provided based on the primary posting location. For this role, the primary location is Welwyn. If you are interested in additional locations where the role may be available, we will provide the relevant compensation details later in the hiring process.
