Job description

ABOUT KINSTEAD Kinstead helps nurse practitioners launch and run their own independent practices. We replace the fragmented, manual infrastructure behind healthcare with a single, intelligent system so clinicians can spend their time on care, not paperwork. This creates a new model of care, one where clinicians practice on their terms and patients get consistent, community-rooted care. We recently closed an oversubscribed round backed by Wisdom Ventures, Expansion VC, Roo Capital, and healthcare leaders from Flatiron Health, Pomelo Care, and Roivant Sciences. - 50+ nurse practitioners across Massachusetts, Maryland, and Connecticut, expanding along the East Coast - New practices launching every week, with strong inbound demand from NPs - Monthly patient visits up 3x in a single quarter (June to September 2026) - Our own technology platform: every practice is moving onto Kinstead-built EHR and billing infrastructure THE ROLE You'll own Kinstead's operations end to end: the systems that take an NP from signed contract to a live, paid, growing practice, and keep it running every month after. This is a hands-on role. You'll design how ops should work, then run it yourself day to day. You'll be the first call when something breaks, whether that's a vendor, a payer, or a process. You report to Parth (COO) and work closely with Taylor (CEO). You'll lead our Ops Specialist from day one, along with the vendors who run credentialing, billing, and front desk. WHAT YOU'LL OWN - Practice launch. The playbook that gets a new practice live in 60 days, run at a pace of 5–6 launches a month and rising. - Credentialing and licensure. NP licensure across states, payer enrollment, and expirables, working with our credentialing vendor. - Revenue cycle. Our billing and RCM vendor relationships, claim denials, and payer issues. You make sure NPs get paid and Kinstead gets paid. - Vendor management. Scorecards, SLAs, and escalation for the vendors we depend on, from RCM to front desk to phones. - Clinical operations. Front desk support, scheduling, and day-to-day practice operations, coordinated with our clinical director. - Reporting. A monthly view of the business that the founders and investors actually read: practice growth, revenue, spend, and vendor performance. - NP escalations. Second line for operational questions from our NPs, and a feedback loop into product so the same question doesn't come back. FIRST 90 DAYS 1. Days 1–30: Learn it by running it. Take over live vendor escalations, credentialing follow-up, and NP ops questions from the founders. Map every ops workflow and where it breaks. 2. Days 31–60: Fix the biggest leaks. Stand up vendor scorecards, clean up licensure and credentialing tracking, and tighten the practice launch playbook. 3. Days 61–90: Make it run without the founders. Ship a monthly ops and financial report, set clear SLAs with every core vendor, and get the founders out of day-to-day ops. WHO YOU ARE - 6–10 years in healthcare operations, including time at a healthcare startup. Bonus points if it was an MSO or a multi-state provider group. - Hands-on with the hard parts of healthcare ops: credentialing, payer enrollment, revenue cycle, or practice launch. You know where these break. - A builder who runs what they build. You've fixed a broken process yourself and kept it running week after week, not just recommended a fix. - Fluent with AI, with your own judgment. You use AI tools to move faster, and you know when the output is wrong. - Comfortable with chaos. Priorities shift month to month here. You like that. - Clear with vendors and NPs alike. You can hold a vendor to an SLA and walk an NP through a payout question in the same afternoon. COMPENSATION AND LOGISTICS - Base salary: $150,000–$200,000 - Equity: Meaningful early-stage equity - Location: New York City, in office 4 days a week - Type: Full-time At Kinstead, we’re building infrastructure for healthcare that serves entire communities—not just a narrow slice of them. That requires a team with diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and ways of thinking. We are committed to hiring people from a wide range of backgrounds, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, religion, disability, and veteran status. We believe better teams build better systems—and better systems lead to better care. We aim to pay competitively for our stage and the importance of the work. Compensation includes base salary, meaningful equity, and benefits, and is designed to align long-term incentives with the impact you’ll have at Kinstead. In accordance with applicable laws, we provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. Final compensation will depend on a number of factors, including experience, skillset, and leveling, as well as internal equity considerations. For this role, the estimated base salary range is $150,000 to $200,000.
