About the Role As the Head of Specialised Transaction Management (STM) USA you will play a leadership role with respect to the credit and risk management of the US Project & Finance business, helping to deliver sound commercial, customer and risk outcomes. This role combines project finance expertise with financial and non-financial risk management, portfolio oversight, transformation and people leadership. You will provide strategic and technical guidance on complex project finance transactions, exercise credit approval discretion and help ensure the business operates within ANZ’s risk appetite, regulatory obligations and internal policy requirements. You will work closely with colleagues across Project & Export Finance, Coverage, Risk, Country Risk, Legal, Operations and Non-Financial Risk. You will also represent Project & Export Finance in key governance forums and cross-divisional initiatives, translating regulatory, risk and operational requirements into practical business outcomes. You will be accountable for: Leading the financial and non-financial risk management agenda for Project & Export Finance (PEF), promoting strong governance, disciplined execution and an effective risk culture. Support the ongoing credit management of the PEF portfolio by preparation and management of Scheduled Reviews, Financial Monitoring, Waivers and Consents requested by the Borrower Maintain credit quality by identifying and escalating credit related matters including adverse trends and potential risk events Overseeing portfolio reporting and analysis, including concentration risk, returns, credit quality and other emerging portfolio trends and provide clear and insightful reporting to senior management and governance forums. Maintaining oversight of compliance with relevant policies, procedures, product standards and approval requirements. Overseeing key controls, operating procedures and control testing activities, including the timely identification and remediation of control weaknesses and non-financial risk events. Building strong relationships with stakeholders in Coverage, Risk, Country Risk, Legal, Finance, Operations and other product teams. Chairing or representing the business at relevant risk management, portfolio and governance forums. Building capability across Project & Export Finance through coaching, onboarding, knowledge sharing and technical guidance. Influencing effectively across geographic, functional and reporting lines. What will you bring? To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following: Significant experience in Project Finance, institutional lending, structured finance or a closely related field. Knowledge of project financing structures. Demonstrated experience structuring, executing or managing complex domestic and cross-border lending transactions. Strong understanding of financial and non-financial risk management, including credit risk, controls, governance and regulatory requirements. Experience interpreting complex policy, prudential, capital or risk grading requirements and applying them to commercial transactions. Sound commercial judgement and the ability to balance customer, revenue, risk, capital and operational considerations. Experience working with senior stakeholders across business, risk, finance, treasury, legal, operations and technology functions. A track record of leading complex cross-functional change, transformation or process-improvement initiatives. Strong analytical capability, including the ability to interpret portfolio information, identify emerging risks and communicate clear recommendations. Proven leadership and people-development capability, including experience operating in a global or matrixed environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical matters for different audiences. Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, law, business or a related discipline. You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. Compensation and Benefits The base salary range for this position is USD275,000 – 310,000 annual This range is determined by the job, location and level of expertise required for this specific role.
