Mitsubishi Chemicals UK are to build a new production plant adjacent to their existing plant on Saltend Chemicals Park in Hull, named the PUMA project. BUK have been appointed Principal Contractor for the project. As part of the HSE team, the HSEA / HSSE trainer you will expected to deliver the required training to the workforce and act as part of the overall HSE team to ensure that the work force has the correct skills for the tasks they are carrying out and when not training, support the HSE team with site inspections, audits and visits. You will be site based full time in the PUMA project offices. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale mechanical project, ensuring the safety of the project work force is As the HSE Advisor / Trainer, your activities will include the following, but not limited to: Provide guidance and support to managers, supervisors, and employees on health and safety matters. Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and behavioural safety observations. Assist in the development and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Monitor compliance with company policies, client requirements, and UK health and safety legislation. Develop and maintain the project’s Training Management Plan. Assist subject matter experts in delivering technical or equipment‑specific training. Maintain up‑to‑date competency profiles for personnel, ensuring alignment with project requirements and relevant regulations. Track expiry dates and update personnel and supervisors on mandatory training renewals. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with client, company, and legislative standards. Identify training gaps through incident trends, inspection findings, or supervisor feedback. Promote a positive safety culture through effective communication and training delivery . Coordinate site inductions, role‑specific training, and awareness sessions for all personnel Deliver site safety inductions, refresher sessions, toolbox training, and essential awareness courses (e.g., permit‑to‑work, manual handling, emergency response). Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 45001 management systems. Produce HSE reports, statistics, and performance data for management review. Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies as required. Support emergency preparedness activities and incident response planning Experience Experience delivering health and safety training within industrial, engineering, manufacturing, energy, or construction environments Qualifications NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar HSE qualification Training qualifications Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) PTLLS (legacy qualification) CTTLS/DTLLS (desirable) For additional information please contact Carla Yvonne Bowman by email carla.bowman@bilfinger.com.
