Job description

AECOM is seeking a BIM Management Lead based in Romania Enterprise Capabilities (EC) office in Bucharest. This position will support a team based locally in Romania supporting Global projects. The BIM Management Lead is responsible for leading and driving the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of Building Information Modelling (BIM) practices across projects and teams within Enterprise Capabilities (EC) Romania. This role provides strategic and operational leadership, ensuring alignment with global BIM standards, project delivery excellence, and digital transformation objectives, while supporting Centre growth and capability development. Roles and Responsibilities: Team Line Management – lead and line manage a BIM Management team consisting of multi-discipline BIM Coordinators and BIM Managers. BIM Implementation Strategy – develop BIM Implementation strategy & deliver complex international projects. CDE Management – establish & administer the CDE & support efficient management of multi-stakeholder projects. Project Management – coordinate BIM execution & project delivery with project leadership. BIM Execution – create & maintain the project’s industry framework docs: BEP, MIDP, MPDT, appendices etc. Technical Support – establish data-integrated workflows for Water and/or Buildings projects & provide support, guidance & training to project teams. Digital Technology & Content Management – oversee the production of smart object content, templates & libraries in the context of the project, deploy the use of AECOM’s content management system (Autodesk Content Catalogue) onto projects and manage the best practice use of digital technology for collaboration, coordination & delivery. Quality – establish & administer the digital quality assurance control procedures. Collaboration – be an ambassador for a global group working with AECOM region project teams, Enterprise Capabilities office disciplines & other AECOM Digital departments. Minimum Requirements: Previous people management experience is preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 19650 framework and related BIM standards. Experience managing and delivering project information on multidisciplinary Water projects and/or Buildings with geographically dispersed teams. Experience delivering BIM data from BIM software such as any of the following: Autodesk Plant 3D, Bentley OpenPlant, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Civil3D, Autodesk Advanced Steel Experience working and administering a Common Data Environment such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (Forma) and/or Bentley ProjectWise. Experience executing multi-discipline coordination, clash detection and issue management and an advanced user of any of the following: Autodesk Navisworks, Revizto, ACC (Forma) Model Coordination. Strong background in technical production of 3D and 2D model deliverables for Water and/or Buildings projects. · Visual programming – preferred, working knowledge of Dynamo or Grasshopper Demonstratable portfolio of BIM Management for Water and/or Buildings projects International experience working with global project teams. Experience working on projects in any of the following: Australia, USA, Canada, UK, and Ireland, Middle East and/or Asia will be considered favourable. Communication - Fluent in English (oral and written), a team player and mentor, with exceptional interpersonal skills. Professional Qualifications: University Degree in either Industrial or Process Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural or Design Technology or Construction Technology, or related discipline; project execution experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience. 10+ years of industry experience in the BIM and Digital Delivery field.
