IT Business Partner (College of Engineering)

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is a research-intensive university ranked among the world’s top institutions. We are seeking an IT Business Partner for the College of Engineering (CoE) to work closely with College and School leadership in understanding their priorities and identifying how technology can better enable education, research and College operations. Supporting the College and its five Schools, the role serves as a key bridge between CoE and the Centre for IT Services (CITS), connecting College and School needs with practical IT solutions and bringing the right stakeholders together to deliver outcomes. We are looking for someone with a solid IT foundation, strong business partnering mindset and learning agility , who is curious about how the College and Schools operate and able to connect their needs with technology. Key Responsibilities Partner College and School leadership to understand their priorities, challenges and emerging IT needs. Act as a trusted IT business partner, proactively identifying opportunities and translating College and School needs into practical IT solutions, working closely with CITS and relevant stakeholders. Shape and drive the College IT roadmap, including exploring how AI, automation, data and emerging technologies can support education, research and College operations. Prioritise IT needs across the five Schools, balancing different priorities, University direction and available resources. Lead key IT initiatives and oversee service delivery to ensure effective outcomes and a positive user experience. Provide leadership to the IT teams supporting the College and Schools, fostering a collaborative, responsive and service-oriented culture. Ensure appropriate alignment with University requirements in areas such as cybersecurity, architecture, data governance and IT standards. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline. A Master’s degree would be an advantage. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IT, technology or related roles, with a solid foundation and practical understanding of IT environments, systems and technology solutions. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and explain technology in simple, practical terms. Proactive and curious, with good judgement and the ability to anticipate needs, connect the dots and identify opportunities for improvement. Positive, collaborative and hands-on, with a strong sense of ownership and willingness to work through issues. Strong learning agility and openness to new ideas and different ways of working. Some experience in leading or supervising teams, projects or cross-functional groups would be an advantage, with demonstrated potential to engage, develop and lead people.
