Houston, TX 77019IT Desktop Support Specialist I - Job OverviewSchedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-4PM)As an IT Desktop Support Specialist I, you will be a trusted, approachable resource for Legacy Community Health team members who rely on technology to deliver meaningful care to the community. You’ll provide hands-on technical assistance and customer support to end users, helping keep systems, devices, and everyday workflows running smoothly across Legacy locations.If you enjoy solving problems, guiding others, and building positive working relationships, this role offers a meaningful way to make a difference. Your support helps clinical and administrative teams stay connected, productive, and focused on the people they serve.Your impact and growthMake a difference in community healthcare by helping teams access the technology required to support patients and families.Build meaningful relationships with end users through responsive, patient, and solutions-focused service.Collaborate with IT supervisors, leads, team members, and customers across the organization.Grow your technical expertise through hands-on experience with hardware, software, Windows environments, remote troubleshooting, and Active Directory.Help improve desktop support processes by identifying opportunities for automation, consistency, and better documentation.A connected, collaborative work experienceSupport a wide range of internal IT and customer requests through an electronic ticketing system.Help staff feel confident using Microsoft Office products through clear, step-by-step instruction.Travel to Legacy locations as needed to provide dependable in-person technical support.Partner with colleagues to develop practical solutions, procedures, technical documentation, and manuals.Contribute to the technology foundation that enables healthcare professionals to provide meaningful care to the community.Key ResponsibilitiesDocument all requests for IT support services in the ticketing system.Respond to all ticketed internal IT and customer requests, escalating when required.Monitor status of pending support requests and obtain follow up information from IT supervisors/leads and/or end user.Act as the MS Office specialist in assisting and instructing staff in use of Microsoft Office products.Produce ad hoc reports as needed.Facilitate copier/printer/fax requests to meet business and budgetary constraints.Identify manual processes in the desktop environment that can be automated for enforcement or uniformity.Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions.Install, upgrade and troubleshoot hardware and software systems.Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional.Create/move AD objects and user accounts.Perform disk imagining via WDS.Conduct remote troubleshooting.Support the creatin of procedure process, technical documentation and manuals.Collaborate on solutions with other team members and customers across the organization.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED is required.Must have valid Texas Driver’s License and clean driving record as responsible to drive to all Legacy locations.Required Years of ExperienceOne year of related experience is required.Hands-on Windows PC Computer experience for both hardware and operating system functions is required.Previous experience with remote administration tools.Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or AbilitiesExceptional customer service and communication skills.Ability to respond effectively to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Demonstrated software proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.Proficiency using an electronic ticketing systemBasic skills in a scripting language.Ability to write documentation for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and team members.About Legacy Community HealthThe largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Southeast Texas, Legacy Community Health has delivered affordable, high-quality care for nearly 40 years across 50+ clinics in Greater Houston and the Gulf Coast.
